Chappell was not wrong. It was clearly a clash of cultures and unwillingness to change mindset. Even today there is talk of Rohit or Virat playing at No 4. And flexibility in team. Dada was never a great fielder and there is always a need to mix experience with new blood. Things just happened at a wrong time.

I watched that 2007 odi world cup . That's my 1st World Cup but I never forgot that world cup. I am 10 years old that time. 1st match lost Bangladesh then win Barmunda but lost Sri Lanka & out of world cup hurt me. Then India win the next world cup in our home soil was an awesome moment for our country. Hope this odi world cup also our team win after 12 years. I m not interested in bilateral odi series but overseas test victories are important. If you even think that a player like k.l rahul is not able to play international cricket..then we can understand your cricketing knowledge,which is almost .0 If one is saying that k.l rahul is getting more chances than any other player,its acceptable..but if anybody is doubting about k.l's ability then surely he is mentally upset or in deep stress.. Man its not a cup of tea to hit sixes over deep mid wicket and long square leg boundary of m.c.g and that too against mitchell starc who consistently bowl around 150 or aver 150.. K.l rahul is suffering bcoz of his batting number..when last time you saw k.l rahul playing at no.1,or number 5 consistently for 5 matches or 2 series??? When you saw any big player goin to him and telling him to just go and play his natural game?? But still he never complained about anything and always give his best whether he is playing at no 1,2,3,4,5 or sometimes at 6 too..sometimes he is standing in slips as fielder and sometimes he is running on the boundary lines,sometimes he is keeping the wickets,sometimes they order him to play sensibly to save his wicket on one side and suddenly in next match the equation needs him to make 70 of 35 balls,120 of 75 balls.. So mark my words and take a screenshot too..k.l rahul is coming back soon to play in team india,,let him be 100% fit and let him start after knowing what is his sure place to bat.. This unbelievable class player will destroy any attack with his ways of hitting the ball over the roofs with just a flick of the legs.. Go n check chris gayle's interview ,you will understand why k.l rahul is been treated as jawai of bcci.. chris gayle himself accept that once k.l is onsong,even gayle cannot hit sixes with this much ease with which k.l rahul is capable of.. i challenge you n all your mates,k.l rahul gonna rule in batting next decade..

Results bhale hi humare favour mein naa hue ho but I think Chappell kaa intend galat nahi tha aur long term mein Indian cricket ko fayeda kar sakta tha. Chappell suggested Ganguly to improve his form even if it comes at the cost of his captaincy. He wanted Ganguly to do what he thought is right for the team. And lets be honest, be it Sachin, Saurav, Rohit, Virat or dravid, chaahe kitna bhi bada naam ho. Jab ye form mein nahi hotey hai toh burden hi lagte hain aur ye chiz team ke liye hi achi nahi hain. He wanted to introduce "perform or perish culture" that made Australia consistently perform like champions in ICC events. But unfortunately, BCCI kaa selection process aaj bhi current form aur match winning ability ko ignore karke player legacy par based hain. Cricket ground par kheli jaati hai, on paper nahi. Humare so-called heroes ne humein har baar ICC events mein nirash kiya hain kyoki HUMARE YAHA KHILADI KHEL SE BADA HAIN.
