Best WC ever, even better than 2011. Delight for fast balling lovers with Brett Lee, Shoaib, Bond all bowling 150+ consistently. Sachin 673 runs and the innings against Pak. Yuvraj, Zak, Bhajji, Nehra, Kaif all in early 20s. Dada captaincy🔥 like Vikrant said, everyone knew Australia were gona win.

When everyone knew Australia would win and that eventually did happen at the end, how could it be the best WC? Every game was one sided affair...south Africa and Pakistan were in decline I see nothing good about this wc except India reached the final beating Kenya...not to forget both semi-finals were utterly one sided including the final...as a cricket fan very ordinary wc...for me the best wc till date is 1999 and 2nd best 2019...

I would absolutely agree to this statement that in 2003 Indian team played the best cricket except that group match and final one vs Australia. It really looked like Indian team was dominating all the games vs other teams which was not the case in 2011 world cup which India won. I still remember the fiery spell of Ashish Nehra at midnight here in India and as far as I remember the match went till 2 am or a bit more than that. It was a worthy one being awake till that time.

I have many memories of those days back in 2003. I was in 8th standard and I still remember how I was watching the world cup. There was Shiv-Ratri on the day of India-Pakistan match. And many many memories in my mind still. Still missing those no tension days :)

This Indian team under Ganguly is an emotion. But in hindsight that Australian team was a different beast altogether. No one stood a chance but I am just happy as a supporter that during that period India was one of the few teams that stood up to Australia and beat them at times.

Heart was broken badly when india lost final still remember that I visited Johannesburg stadium in 2018 and closed my eyes and went back when I watched final of 2003 on tv at the age of 16 really very small stadium boundaries very close easy six four that’s when I understand how easily Ricky pointing hayden gilcrist Andrew symonds hit big sixes out of the stadium where there is a golf course right outside stadium

@@kingdomranu छोटे__ IPL से पहले क्रिकेट जोश जुनून और देश भक्ति के जज्बे के साथ खेला और देखा जाता था ।। इंडियन टीम पहले जब मैच हारती तो स्टेडियम के साथ साथ खिलाड़ीयों के घर तक तोड़ फोड़ होती थी ।। और अब भारत फाइनल भी हारता है तो ,,मुझे या हम जैसों को कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ता ...पहले जूनून के लिए क्रिकेट खेला जाता था ..अब पैसे के लिए खेला जाता है ।।

Yes i saw that match live.... India lost in the first over itself when zaheer threw ball all over the ground except stumps and gave away 17 runs in first over itself. He was scared as death against hayden and gilchrist

It was not team fault, Kumble played just 3 games in the entire WC, he didn't played any match in the super six or semi final, but not picking Kumble vs SL in 2007 WC match was a poor call, Harbhajan failed to picked up any wicket against Bangladesh then Kumble played against Bermuda got 3 wickets with very less runs but then Kumble was again dropped for the final league match vs SL (a must win encounter) and again Bhajji failed to impress vs SL and a dismal end to a very good odi career from Kumble
