I never understood what the point of this Dance. Can someone explain. I'm part Ho Chunk, Pueblo Indian and Spanish. I grew up in the Pueblo and around Spanish people

It's the "Dance of the Ancestors"... signified through emulating the Northern Lights Dancing... the up and down movement... the swaying of fringes... the movement of Northern Lights... the colors of Regalia emulating the various colors of the Northern Lights... Native belief is the Northern Lights are our ancestors dancing... Beauty, Regal and Majestic in Spiritual Form...
