Hot take, imo Havertz is in for a shout as one of our top performers this season. 18 g/a in the prem this season and he played as a box to box half the season.. where i actually think he did much much better then people say. His defensive stats were excellent.. The problem with kai as an 8 is not kai as an 8, its missing him as a 9!! Because without him up top we had no long ball options and no duel winner up front! I think he has been just as influential as rice this season and frankly i think he is a better footballer tbh. Technically superior, more versatile, more athletic, smarter. Im confident the next season will reveal this.

Giving Raya a five for one misplaced pass in an otherwise faultless performance is extremely harsh, especially given what you said about Trossard for his six.

We could finish this season on 89 points having scored the most goals and conceding the least and still not win the league. Its madness the levels nowadays.

Tbh I would prefer a GK who makes a silly mistake but intercepts all the crosses. Another goalie may not have made that mistake but would have overall played worse, we would have conceded more but he would look better. Raya has the most GK errors and the most clean sheets. I feel like says it all.

I don't think we can blame Dec for the second goal, he got the ball, both of them in fact.

Hey Charles. Big phenomenal win at the away game. Proved we can worthy till the end. By the way, did you see the photo of Benjamin Sesko's agent at the Emirates last week against Chelsea? Many people are suspecting that he came to held talks with both Arsenal and Chelsea. How do you think of signing a much younger striker now that Havertz has settled in the No.9 spot. Sesko is very talented and can also cover both wings as well.

Thought we were very fortunate. Tomiyasu very lucky to stay out of the book, which made it easier to keep tabs on Kulusevski. Van der Ven's goal could've stood. Trossard's clip on Kulusevski in the build-up to Saka's goal would've been a soft penalty... but not like we haven't conceded soft penalties vs Sp*rs in the past. Massive moment. Raya's been excellent, but he really ruined that last 35min...

Trossard had to do a lot of defending today (remember the left-back position is our weak link, whoever we put there). Let's not forget when Leo went off we was 3-0 up and coasting. I don't necessarily disagree with the Trossard rating (in comparison to the others), but he also won the corner which lead to the 3rd goal. You seem quite hard on Leo. Even when he's done well in the past you 'pull the lead' on him or, as in a couple of games back, totally brush over his efforts.

A very odd game as you say, we didn't deserve 3-0 at halftime, the Spuds had been eating red meat for 2 weeks & came out swinging, we were poor in terms of keeping the ball but were clinical, whereas the Spuds were very unlucky.. In the second half we settled down & started to totally dominate before the Raya clanger - then we managed to recover & stabilised the game until a silly Penalty given away by Rice ! After that it was very tense but we defended very well & the defence were superb. Kai Havertz played a great game, I admit that I wouldn't have bought him but there is no doubt the man is a big game player & has improved massively since his early days at Arsenal & pretty much his entire career at Chelsea ! The pass to Saka for the second goal was a thing of wonder !

The most unenjoyable game of the season 😂 You are right Charles, 1st half they were better with them getting all the 50/50 balls, 2nd half the opposite, but Raya....OMG. If he was under pressure then fair enough, the way we build up play that will happen, but there was no pressure at all!!!! He needs to learn to play golf. Why? Because you plan your perfect shot in golf but also plan your bad shot. He should automatically know, that in that situation, it's paramount that your bad kick is too long, not too short like that.

A super-hard derby today. Arsenal were not their best but we managed to finish our chances and a stella world-class og from Spursy gave us the three points! Raya I feel for. He needs to just whack it! Kai was great today. It was so nervy at the end. Martinelli looks sharper and I have real hope for the run-in! The referee missed so many fouls / yellows though. Charles, agree with your assessment of the match, and as echoed in the comments, that we could easily have been down after the first half but were up three, and looked very solid (except for the two errors) in the second and managed to drop two. I think the technical/clinical term for what happened to Raya is "Brain Fart". One question, do you have any thoughts on the non-penalty call against Trossard on Saka's goal? The US NBC team, who I think are excellent, thought it was a missed call. Maybe the angle presented was misleading, but the Spurs guy was running and his one foot hit Trossard (who was behind him) in the leg. Trossard did not appear to be engaging at the time. I guess these have been / are often given, but IMO it would have been a very harsh call if the pen was awarded.

Hi Charles, thanks for the great content as always. What a performance by Kai Havertz. To me it´s one of the best individual performances of any arsenal player this season. That’s why I don’t understand the constant talk about signing a new number 9. What player can we get that is better at pressing, hold up play, finishing and availability (he never gets injured). You probably can find better players at one of those attributes but I can only think of harry kane as a better whole package striker. Sergio

Hi Charles, I think you were incredibly harsh on Raya. His mistake was huge, but mainly because we ask our keeper to be so involved in play and passes. He is bound to get one wrong sometime. Outfield players get passes wrong often but for the keeper this generally leads to goals coz he is the last man. Thanks for the content COYG- Happy with the win!

Another thrilling game. Arsenal demonstrate to everyone why they are the leading title contender this season. The game was fantastic, and my beloved Arsenal team demonstrated class in the art of football. I have to admit that I expected the game to be tough, and the Spurs will do everything they can to derail our chances of winning. However, Arsenal come away with a relatively easy victory. It would have been a clean sheet if Raya had not made a silly mistake by passing the ball to his opponent. Raya should exercise extreme caution when making this type of unforced error. He needs to stop being as cocky as Ramsdale was; otherwise, Arteta will start looking at him as an alternative goalkeeper. Rice's penalty was unfortunate because he did not even see the player in front of him before kicking the ball. I am not sure how the VAR considers this a penalty. Anyway, we won the game, and now the pressure is on Manchester City to make mistakes in some of their games. Gunner for life!

Agree was a strange game Charles, game of two halves but the score not reflecting the half! And agree Raya was really good last 20 minutes and most of the game but one big error. If an outfielder does lots of good things and one bad mistake they probably get a decent player rating, but that's the harsh life of being a keeper!

After this game we really need to reinforce the front line. We had a lot of options but mikel didn’t trust them to come on and make a difference like it was the case all season long. A direct pacey winger and a center forward definitely required with keeping everyone but eddie and reiss.

It's always a nervy fixture but the best teams get results when they aren't playing their best and we managed that today so lets move onto a tricky bournemouth side next! Hi Charles, I hope you are well. I have seen a lot of fans pointing the finger at Raya post match which I think is abit harsh. He did make a mistake, but at the same time he wasn't to anticipate that Romero their centre half would push on like that. You can see he spotted it and wanted to pull out on the pass but it was just too late. Being in a title race with City has us demanding all of our players to be 100% perfect all season which is never going to happen. We also have to remember that this is both Declan Rice and David Raya's first away NLD and first run in and it was telling that they both made the big errors that led to goals, but the most impressive thing was that their team mates who were in this position last season kept their heads and showed the maturity to see the game out and carry the two new players through that backs against the wall period. They both will learn from this experience and be better for it, I think the other players deserve huge credit for carrying their mates through their mistakes, big Gabi and Kai were immense as was Raya who grew in the close stages collecting the ball and dropping on it. Great lets just enjoy the last 3 games guys stop watching city and focus on just how good we finally are, we will be there next season no matter what!

Raya did make a massive error leading to a goal, however played great other than that and gets a 5. Rice makes a massive error leading to a goal, plays well other than that and gets a 7? I thought Raya was really good and these types of mistakes are gonna happen when you expect your keeper to play how he does. Not an excuse but 5 was harsh for me. The amount of crosses he claimed in that last 20 minutes, plus his calmness in playing out the back in the first half deserves at least a 6 - Luke

Crazy game but I think we deserved to win the game despite not being at our best in the first half. Partey was immense even though he got caught in possession a few times. His ability to find Saka early in the build up makes us more dynamic. I struggle to see how we are going to buy a striker that can do what Havertz does. Unless Mikel is planning to use Jesus mainly as a winger I’d rather buy a left 8 and let Jesus and trossard rotate with Havertz at the ST role.

Arsenal should buy a good alternate GK. Raya is taking his starting place for granted. Ramsdale may be good enough but I doubt he'd stay next season.

Saka deserves far more respect. Where are his POTY shouts? Most goals, most assists for the best attack in the league…and quite frankly carried this attack when no one else was firing at the beginning of the season. Rice and Ø have been fantastic, but Saka has led from the very get go. Even his “average” performances have produced output.

Hey Charles! Any idea why Jesus wasn't brought on? Captain Chaos does some brilliant assists and gets the odd penalty because he's so tricky in the box. Our next match is 6 days away, so I'd have at brought him on to replace Saka at the same time Martinelli was brought on.

Raya is a sweeper keeper. He will make a mistake like that every so often. Arteta wasn't pissed - he knows that will happen. The best keepers in the world are sweeper keepers, and each of them make mistakes like that. Fans should understand and lay off him. He deserved at least a 6, not a 5. Tomiyasu stumbled before that header. Havertz is proving Arteta a genius. My favorite player, our unicorn.

This team is absolutely incredible, while the performance wasn’t great in the first half it really doesn’t matter at this point in the season as long as you get the 3 points. Think Havertz should have been motm he was incredible, on to Bournemouth now all we can do is win our last 3 games and just pray that City slip up somewhere. Bournemouth won’t be an easy game either.

A lot of people are praising Spurs' performance but how much of it was because Arsenal were far more tired? I felt we played more passively, with far less pressing intensity in order that we could conserve our legs.

Have noticed a pattern of Odegaard not being effective when midfield area is tight and competitive in big games. Munich games are other examples of this. Maybe we should accept his position/style of play isnt suited to games against teams who flood the midfield and adapt different tactics as it feels he's a luxury that cant be afforded when things are tight. Mikel clearly feels the same seen as he took him off at the end. Great player but doesnt need to start every game and different tactics should be used at times - especially with the asset of Havertz ariel ability. Also..why on earth was Partey not used in Munich ?!

Transfers wise, we oughta leave Havertz as no.9 cause he's obviously got it, and get Guimaraes to slot into that no.6 role in between Rice and Odegaard. If we thought we missed Partey, imagine that 3, in behind Saka, Havertz and one of Trossard or Martinelli.

Any goalkeeper worth he's salt would have caught those crosses that came into the area late on. But oh dear that pass to Romero A Moment of madness, and fans saying Ramsdale cant concentrate for 90mins. I don't care what anyone on here says , Raha is not a better keeper than Ramsdale. We could save that almost 30mil. Dont be fooled by all those clean sheets, they were mostly down to our excellent defence. Harsh pen in my opinion, the ball coming down from the sky , Rice has he's eyes firmly on the ball, about to kick/clear the ball, when Spurs player just runs/crashes into him. Unbelievable decision. Glad Harry wasen't playing, might have been a different result. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Out of there with out playing well, but on we go.
