As you discovered, Kai's "Film: Kai Rover," is a sort of teaser/sample of all the songs on Kai's third solo album Rover. This video was meant to get people excited about the album. It did exactly what it was meant to, you head a sample of all the songs and then you said, "Now I've got to listen to the album." So far, for all of Kai's solo albums he has produced a Film: Kai or prolog film that gives a sample of all the songs on his album and they are all highly cinematic like this. The only song that has an MV is "Rover," the other 5 songs in this "Film: Kai Rover" video are B-side songs, so they don't have MVs. That is why you don't see any "Rover" choreography in the film because they want you to watch the MV. This video was purely designed as a teaser for his album and this is all there is as far as videos for the other songs. You only hear a small snippet of each song. If you listen to the album or watch a live performance you will see there is a lot more to these songs than what you hear in this video. Kai had a hand in producing this whole album and his "Film: Kai Rover" storyline is supposed to depict his life journey and all that he as gone through to become the idol and performer that he is today. Everything he does is very deep and philosophical and has a lot of different layers, which can be interpreted in many ways depending on how deeply you want to explore the concepts in the video. Fun fact: Highlight medelies for SM artist's solo albums first became a thing with SHINee Taemin's "Press It highlight melody" video in 2016, which was a video showing Taemin performing a snippet of every song on his solo Press It album. (Like everything SHINee does, Taemin was the first to promote his album giving people a sample of every song on the album, kicking off a trend.) You could also say it's similar to NCT's track videos that they have been releasing with their albums more recently. As you can see, he is also considered one of the sexiest Kpop idols, and he is known for his super sexy onstage personality, which is why you often see him shirtless or wearing crop tops when he is performing. Kai is often shirtless because he is known for his abs and it's become part of his brand. These days it is almost expected of him that he will show off his abs. It has even sort of became part of EXO's storyline. He has literally been on a strict diet and workout regimen for most of his career in order to maintain his abs. If you check out an episode of "I live Alone" where Kai was on the show, he shows off his super chic condo and talks a little about his diet. However, in an episode of Knowing Bros. he talked about how on stage he doesn't mind being shirtless because it is part of the character he embodies, but the minute he steps off stage he becomes extremely self-conscious. During "Tempo" and "Obsession" era when he was wearing crop tops all over the place to perform during music shows and events, etc. he said it caused him to have really bad posture, because the minute he stepped off stage he would slouch to try and cover his stomach. Therefore, if you really get to know him, you will see that when not on stage he is almost the complete opposite of what you see here. He is actually soft spoken, cutely innocent and pretty shy in real life. If you want more of Kai's "Film: Kai Rover," check out his "Film: Kai #Rover" dance practice. I think you will be even more blown away when you see the complete choreography for each of these songs. (All the tutting with that book, he can do live as well.) As the main dancer of EXO, Kai is literally one of the top two best dancers in Kpop. And that's not just a fan's opinion, but it's a title given to him by his peers and the the industry as a whole. (Taemin from SHINee -- who happens to be Kai's best friend since trainee days, and is a fellow member of SuperM -- is the other top dancer.) There is literally no one better when it comes to dance than Kai and Taemin. Kai's love for dance started with jazz and ballet. From a young age, he began training to become a ballet dancer. So he learned form and technique first before any other style of dance. That's why I think you can see such precision in his dancing. As a child, he fell in love with dancing after seeing the Nutcracker and he told his parents that he wanted to do that. So, his whole foundation with dance began with ballet. He says, that if he hadn't been bribed by his father to audition for SM Entertainment, and if he hadn't become a Kpop star, he probably would be a professional ballarino today. Kai became a trainee with SM when he was about 12 -- he debuted as a member of EXO when he was around 18 -- so he has been honing his skills and dedicating himself to become one of the best in the industry for years. And now, at 29, he has literally been recognized as one of the best of the best.

Kai is so into fashion, he always looks incredible. But he does have a very cute obsession with hats when he's performing. To me it seems like a little bit of Jongin creeping into his performance as Kai (if you delve more you will learn about his duality from on & off stage). I know he often uses the hats as a way to draw focus from his face while performing but i just think its cute that such a trendy, gorgeous man wants to wear such daggy hats 😂 Thank you for this reaction. Hey. Among his solo stuff you may react to his first cool MV "Mmmh" and "FILM: KAI" as well - it's also a compilation of his songs from the first album, it is done super professionally with great choreo as well. If to focus more on his dancing skills - it's better to watch fan-cam versions of EXO songs like "Love Shot", "The Eve", "Tempo".
