This is a TV series reaction to my first time watching Ahsoka. This reaction video contains Episode 7 - Dreams and Madness, and Episode 8 - The Jedi, The Witch, and the Warlord. Now we play the waiting game after this conclusion to this chapter of the story. I am so pleased with all the acting and the moments that called back to previous things and I can't wait to see what's in store next for Sabine, Ezra, Thrawn, the Nightsisters, and Baylan Skoll! Make sure to stick around to the end of this video for my full thoughts and review and thank you so much for watching!

Greetings! Just re-watched Your Ahsoka reactions and have some after-thoughts I thought up and felt like sharing, If You don't mind... 1.) The Night Trooper scene on the fortress's summit: I honestly am kind of concerned by the level of loyalty displayed by Thrawn's men. These men and women have been stuck here for a full decade more or less. All They've had to rely on for Their survival was each other, Their limited reasorces and of course, Thrawn's leadership skills. Then Hope arrives in the form of former-Magistrate and industialist Morgan Elsbeth. Lady Elsbeth then proceeds, a couple days later, to seek a few Good Men in the form of volonteers. These brave and selfless soldiers are told, in no uncertain terms We assume, that They Will Not return Home. They Will Not see Their Friends, Families and other Loved Ones ever again and They Will Not survive to see this day through. All this based on some vague blessings at best from some spooky Nightsister's weird blessings and Magick sourceries!? That's some serious level of dedication to Thrawn's cause! 2.) Those mysterious cargo crates. Any other Imperial Commander would have betrayed that promise first chance He or She got. This shows Two things: First: Thrawn is a Man of His Word. Second: The Great Mother's deal must somehow tie into His plans for war. This won't go well with the rest of the Imperial Remnants and the Shadow Council. 3.) I think that Thrawn is mearly putting up an act: let His Allies as well as His Enemies think that his goal is to re-conquer the Galaxy for the Empire's legacy. In reality, He will use the inevitabile caos his return will cause to acquire and secure Imperial Remnant, and possibly even New Republic, reasorces to destined to His People, the Chiss Ascendancy, who reside in the Unknown Regions. I suspect that former-Commandant Brendol Hux, the Father of Armitage Hux, will play a key role in this. Him and Captain Gilead Pellaeon will lay the ground-work for the rise of the First Order.

Thrawn sees any misstep or loss as a learning opportunity for himself to better improve his strategic insight. His mind is a flowchart that he tests to make better over time. Failure is a chance to assess and improve upon his method.

Disagree on the ending. This was a great setup for a Season 2 (that wasn't teased, yet now seems to be inevitable). It was appropriate to focus on Thrawn's escape, Ezra's return, Sabine's evolution (and, as force powers go, for some people once she was able to consciously access it, then it becomes easier to use...and let us not take away from the glimpses we saw in her lightsaber combat by actually blocking and deflecting blaster bolts...including those she wasn't facing), and Ahsoka's redemption. As for the limited showing of Baylan and Shin: they had their focus in the prior episode...in which Baylan was left without his mount, and Shin was abandoned by Thrawn's nighttroopers. So cut to the end, and we see what they ended up at post the final battle with Thrawn. All of this in anticipation of a Season 2 to further detail their stories, as well as those of our primary characters.

My thoughts on the Sabine Force push: It's mentioned that Ahsoka was concerned Sabine would be dangerous if she unlocked her true potential. I'm wondering if she's unlocked it previously while under instruction with Ahsoka, something happened and she hid her powers away, because she scared herself too. And yes, the "tired" fighting scene stuck out like a sore thumb on first viewing, weird that it made it into the final cut! Impatiently waiting on season 2 now :)

I really enjoyed this episode. Just about every part. I feel like this series is about Ahsoka and her apprentice. Sabine’s force push may have been a little rushed but personally, I’m ok with it. She’s ready and probably more open to feeling the force than ever before. Plus I just feel pushing and pulling is probably Force 101. Ezra fighting without a lightsaber is definitely Master level. I was really impressed by Ashoka’s fight with Morgan. Thrawn was perfect. I love how easily Ahsoka stood up to Shin and offered her the choice. I didn’t get the Mortis father reference at the end until I read comments about it. That makes the ending all the more Intriguing. I really enjoyed this whole series start to finish. So many outstanding choices with the actors, characters, humor, action, music, etc. I was provided excellent fan service but also many surprises. I feel like Filoni is the Master of Star Wars now.

Well the force kind of clicks with users. It's not always a steady growth. Now being able to completely control it and not use it in emergency situations only, is what really takes training. It's almost as if once she finds Ezra a part of her is relaxed enough to truly accept the force. It's no different than Rey doing things with the force that are unexpected for someone untrained but she doesn't gain control of it until she leans to hone her skills. I feel like Sabine is learning how powerful she can be but will take training (which she will now be receiving) to be able to use it without it being a dire moment.

Thanks, Kaiielle! As always, a delight to share a reaction with you. As you know, I've been a Star Wars fan since 77 when the original came out. I hadn't consumed any of the non-live action stuff, because... well, I got tired. I grew up, had a family, job, life... you know. So... now, all my children are grown up. And, Covid gave me the opportunity to see a bunch of things that I wouldn't otherwise have watched. I enjoyed the Mandalorian. And, when season 2 rolled around, and it became obvious that I was going to need to have watched the Clone Wars and Rebels, I bit the bullet and watched them. (I didn't watch them before, you know... when they were on... because I'm a grown up, and they're cartoons!) Well, I'm glad to have been proven wrong. And, I'm really glad, because I absolutely love Ahsoka, the character. She is my favorite Star Wars character. And, that's saying a lot, considering how long I've been a fan of the franchise. Now... because it was animation, the life essence of Ahsoka I think is best portrayed by Ashley Eckstein. I love her voice in combination with the characters animated self. I liked the animation best in Clone Wars. Different style in Rebels. But, I got used to it... because of Ashley's voice. Now, I also love Rosario Dawson. I don't think I've seen anything she's been in where I haven't thoroughly enjoyed her performance. And, she's okay as a more mature Ahsoka. And, I certainly enjoyed her in the Mandalorian, and now in this show. That said... I would have been okay with a CGI Ahsoka, and Ashley's voice. They managed a CGI Zeb, and it looked pretty good, for the one scene he was in. But... yeah... it's what it is. I have suspended my disbelief, and I have moved in to acceptance, and enjoyment. So... going forward? I have absolutely no idea where the show is going to go, nor what Ahsoka and Sabine will learn together before they ride their purgills back to the Star Wars galaxy. I suspect, that for Ray's character, they'll pull an original Hamill. You know, how Mark Hamill had a bad accident before Empire Strikes Back, and had to have reconstructive surgery? So, they put in the scene where the wampa womped him in the face. Perhaps, we'll see Baylon in a fierce battle with the power he's pursuing, and his face will be scarred. Then... whoever has to fill Ray's shoes can wear a prosthetic scar which will explain why he doesn't look or sound quite the same. I'm with you. I've enjoyed everything I've seen Ray in, and I'm going to miss him. * sigh * As for the story... I've said it before: I'm just along for the ride. I hope they make it fun and engaging and cool, and even if it's not. Even if it's just lots and lots of sighing... I'll still be on board. Thanks again for the watch. I'll look forward to the next one. (I hope you're doing well. Take care.)
@JayGHDTTP
@JayGHDTTP 8 ай бұрын
I don't understand the criticism Rosario is receiving for her depiction of Ahsoka in this series. Makes no sense. Either fans don't or refuse to understand that Ahsoka is almost 50 years old within this timeline. She's not the 18/19 year old Ahsoka shown at the end of Clone Wars. She's a mature adult, Jedi master at this point in her life that is still dealing with the trauma of her youth. As Episode 5 showed, she was a child fighting in a war and she lost her Master to the darkside. Ahsoka's playful demeanor hasn't been dominant since the end of Clone Wars Season 5. She was already a changed person in Season 7. Expecting her to be Clone Wars Season 1-5 Ahsoka is just an unrealistic expectation.

If that's true I do feel that they could have shot it better to where it looks as if Ezra made 80% of the jump. The way I look at Sabine's ability to use the force like she did goes back to what Huyang said to Ezra about Sabine "unlocking her potential". so I see it as like in video game terms, you unlock a skill tree and you gain some basic uses in that skill, pulling, pushing, etc. and then only time, training and understanding "along with some other factors I am unaware of" will decide how strong she becomes in being able to use the force. as for the lack of screen time for Baylan and Shin, I do feel like that seemed off. especially what happened with Shin, I expected her to go back to the ship with Thrawn. but it seems like she just went a totally different route that hasnt yet explained itself. Im not sure, but I feel like its going to be a long time before we get a season 2 with all that is going on with the strike and what not. which really sucks because I think this show could really get good now that the ground work has been set from the 1st season.

I appreciate your criticisms because two of them - lazy choreography and dull writing - I share. But I didn't consider your point on how Baylan and Shin nearly disappeared in the finale. As antagonists in Star Wars I like how complex they are; even though Baylan's goals are vague, Ray plays him so well that we can see the weight of these aspirations in his performance. Shin's a merciless fighter but still conflicted by Asokha's invitation to join her, etc. All in all I hope we get a better written season 2 of Asokha.

Despite absolutely loving this show I must admit Sabine being Ahsoka's apprentice does feel out of place. It seems like Dave wanted Ahsoka to have an apprentice and Sabine just happened to be the only character to somewhat fit. Kanan is dead, Ezra is far far away and Jacen would be too young for the story they would need to tell. I feel like, if that was the intention all along during Rebels, Sabine and Ahsoka would've had more scenes together and there would've been a bit more focus on Sabine potentially being Force sensitive.
