Im quite sad about the fact this game is gone (for now). Since 2019 this game has been one of the main reasons I joined Roblox, along with being a fan of your channel for over 8 years. I've been a fan of Godzilla for basically my entire life and I've grinded so much on this game just to show my love for it. Hopefully the official liscense gets granted to Verret cus KU has brought so much fame to both the TOHO and Legendary Franchises of Godzilla, aside from the movies. Praying that all goes well for the dev team.

1:08 I got my Shin Godzilla to 100 yesterday and an hour before the game shut down, I finally got Eva-01. She took me around 2 months to get, and I'm devastated now that I'm not able to level her up.

I may have glitched my Roblox as I left my Roblox tab open overnight, before KU got shut down, the game on that tab was KU, so now I am able to see KU and all of it as if I can play it. I decided to click play as I could on the game and I was just sitting in the “joining game” screen and it was so eerie as there were literally no people (obviously) playing the game- all gamepass icons wouldn’t load, private servers still existed. So I can play it but not get past the joining game screen.

A few years back, the exact same thing happened to a game called Pokémon: Brick bronze. The game was actually good, and gave a multiplayer Pokémon experience years before Sword and Shield came out. Then a famous KZfaqing couple (at the time) played the game and made one singular video on it. The very next day, the game had been wiped off the planet. It saddens me so to watch it happen all over again...

As a 3 year KU veteran, I can say that I had a heart attack when I saw it was shut-down. Even though I quit the game about 9 months ago I still had so much progress on the account. Glad that that everyones data is saved, but still, like you said I think they might have to delete some of my favorite kaiju just for copyright laws.

i remember i use to play the hell out of this game and bought all the gamepasses, had a ton of fun but moved away overtime, i only just found out it had been deleted after watching your playthrough and it's saddening to see it gone as from what i can see it's gotten a ton better since last i played it looks wise

Apparently the reports was from someone who was faking to be toho to a bunch of kaiju games on roblox as apparently toho had once said that they dont mind third party roblox games as it doesnt really affect them

Toho has known and has been fine with Kaiju Universe for a while, it really puzzles me on what happenend. I guess it's just Tohover...

If you want something similar I recommend a game called creatures of sonaria, love to see you branch off towards other games that aren’t Jurassic focussed recently. Would love to see you play something like alien isolation one day too!

I just recently got into the game and found it hilarious that Beav also started right around the same time. I had a lot of fun in the time I had. It's a shame as well because I'd only just gotten Kiryu and was trying to settle into its mechanics.

Don't worry everyone Verret(the owner) said they are currently working to get an official license from Toho (Source: Kaiju Universe Discord Server) Edit: They also said no personal data would be lost. 2nd Edit: I know this comment has been explained in the video but this is just for the people who want to know the main point immediately without watching the video but still watch the video.

Something I've thought is if this is in the same vein as the Jurassic Park Survival situation (where Universal took down a JP survival-horror fan game because Universal was secretly making their own and then announced it shortly after that fan game basically got shut-down), where Toho is trying to swipe these fan games out of the way because they're making their own proper Godzilla game for the 70th anniversary. It could make sense given the promotions they've been doing in the form of DLC for other games recently (Minecraft, Gigabash, Dave the Diver, etc), and also that Minus One did really well in the US and got nominated for an Oscar (still have to wait and see if it won it though). I'm holding out all judgements until Toho reveal or don't reveal a proper game this year, and if they do then I'd be fully understanding of this situation. If this isn't the case though then idk, I'll just be disappointed that they shut down something and didn't actually try to fill the void left by it.

Hey beaver, this was definitely unexpected as playing the game for 4 years, now of all times? Poor move on Toho’s part but there is still hope???

Basically, Kaiju Universe and others on Roblox, like Kaiju Arisen 5.0, are better than all the official Godzilla games. Kaiju Universe in particular has introduced more people to the Godzilla franchise than anything else outside of the movies. If Toho or Legendary do decide to license the game, that would be a huge profit move on their part, and they could possibly fund Verret and the rest of the KU team to make the game even better.

We just gotta hope we don't lose any kaijus and regrind. Also gamingbeaver i been watching ur videos for years keep up the hard work

At the moment, the PG development team is working and trying its hardest to get the game relaunched, and if they do, Verett and and the rest of the PG devs have stated that no player data has been lost, and they are going to continue development. They are working to get an official license to these kaijus, and there is still hope the game comes back up. Dont lose hope fellas, as currently the game has only been temporarily closed. Lets pray that the game will reopen and continue development.

this really sucks because I've been playing KU before the male muto remodel update came out, and that was like 2 years ago, but all the KU players out there, we can only hope that PG productions can make this game alive again. :(

I remember the first time that the game was released. I played as Godzilla 2014 before when I started it and the recent updates, the games, new kaiju It was really sad to see it go away but we had to remember it’s always fun to play it was not a game. It was more like a battle arena field with monsters Giants max. They all have their unique powers powerful to fight challenges. I am going to miss this game. Everyone‘s going to miss this game. Wish she will come back and we can play it all again, I wish she would stay longer rest in peace, kaiju universe

James I recommend playing Vibe Hotel (dont say its actual name because its all we have left) its like KU but with less kaiju but honestly way better

As someone who is a fan of three going on four years of the Godzilla franchise and some of the Roblox games, this sucks but I have some hope. This was also just out of nowhere and caught me off guard when I first herd the news especially when the KU devs stated before that Toho was fine with how they doing thing, I hope that they can get everything back to normal and I hope that you Beaver as my favorite KZfaqr and the one that inspired me can enjoy it again one day too.

This was a sad day for ku history I have been plying this game since way back in 2019 and have spent years of grinding on this game and to see it all go down the drain and the money I spent on it has got to be one of the worst things to happen to me personally in all my time gaming

I personally hope it stays down, beavs I don’t know if you know this but the community (specifically the discord) is a real pain, the devs don’t communicate or explain anything and they don’t listen to their community, it may be fun to play for awhile but as you’ve experienced grinding to minus one, that’s all the game is and nothing more, no game modes, no fleshed out missions, just the same thing over and over, I pray for something better but trying to ask for that in the discord server is like asking for something in North Korea.

When it comes out this year you should play Empire of the Ants beaver. (It's on Steam) Love the videos keep up the good work.

It is very disappointing that ku has been taken down. I am sorta mad at toho about this situation becuase i and many others have waited for a high quality, awesome kaiju game but toho never made one. The closest thing we had was this but it is now gone. I would love to see more godzilla content but idk if it is possible given the circumstances. Keepmdoing what ur doing❤❤

It always sucks whenever great and accurate Roblox fan games get taken down or have to change due to copyright. But it’s good to see that they are trying to get a license

I get why companies do this, but it's so sad that they enforce it on projects that are obviously being made out of love for the source material. I hope KU can work something out with Toho or whoever is responsible for this situation.

I was literally on the game when it shut down, i thought it was just a shutdown for an update or that maybe my internet was bad, but no and i will be waiting for it to come back up and play like there is no tomorrow

This one genuinely made me sad. This game pretty much was the singular reason I became a kaiju fan. It’s where I first basically discovered how cool the idea of kaijus are. I have been playing that game for like 4 years now. And now everything was all for nothing. I truly hope this comes back somehow.

As much as I'm going to miss playing this game, I'm not that heartbroken, at least. Like jfc, I'm more of a casual player, and the fact that you have to grind for like five years in total playtime just to get like one monster even REMOTELY good is incredibly foul. Sure, it's fun, but sometimes it's really sad and discouraging when you can tell who paid with robux/mum's credit card to actually get better and the game and who didn't. Nonetheless, I still feel really sorry for the lads and lasses who had fun with this Roblox game. Here's to hoping it may come back some day.

I got Type-3 Kiryu the day that it went down. Got it earlier in the day and came back to see that it was gone. Had like 10-15 mins total playtime on it and it was so cool :(

This also happened with Pokemon Brick Bronze, after Pokemon went after the game, they made a different game like a knock off Pokemon game. But Pokemon hit them hard because a lot of people actually wasted money including myself. Hopefully they do find a solution.

I quit Kaiju universe a while ago after a few comments the devs made on their discord and the toxic community, I spent so long on it I had a lvl 200 minilla EX as well as max dest and I did enjoy it but towards the end it just wasn’t that interesting to me anymore, looking back it was ku that got me into Godzilla the way I am today, great video Beaver ❤

I have played this game for two years on and off and I also watched the gaming beaver so when I saw he made a video I was excited so to see it go is sad hopefully this is temporary.

The one good thing im seeing from every good godzilla game being deleted is the fact a dev for a different game, not ku but there was a dev for one of the top godzilla games who did smth pretty disgusting and now he doesnt get paid for a bit (YAAAAY!!) other than that its just sad that these games are gone, i personally spent hours upon hours grinding for almost every kaiju and now that i cant use the kaijus i grinded so long for real big shame. But hopefully the future for ku is a bit closer than we're thinking

a way for Ku to come back is probably do what one game on roblox did called YBA a jojo game that had different names, but the models and stuff that were litterly from jojo, and also have a license to use the godzilla models or something idk :P

Most likely, Kaiju Universe will not reopen its doors since for that they would have to buy a license and remember that licenses can cost thousands or millions of dollars, so...

Although i'm not very confident that ku is gonna come back i hope you don't quit godzilla for now cause i really enjoy it how my favorite youtuber goes through my favorite franchise

If you want something on Roblox that at at least somewhat scratch the itch until things hopefully work out, I'd like to recommend "Creatures of Sonaria". It's a creature survival game, but many of said creatures have science fiction and/or supernatural abilities. Plus, while the roster is quite varied, there are a fair few that could be kaiju in their own right
