Just learnt of this and found some fascinating info on this anime... It's a Frankenstein adaption, but one that loosly adapts Marvel's adaption of the monster.

Considering what they did with Marvel's Tomb of Dracula, I was never surprised by that fact. It would be weirder if it wasn't somehow connected.
