My veterinary doctor was luckily warning me about it. She told me that I should wait until 2 years. If I will want fast, so 18 months is minimum. And she told me about bones growth. I was thinking: "Okay, if I will wait until 18 months or two years, I will let him intact. Because if I will be able handle him until that time, so I will be able to handle him later as he is." He is 10 months old sheprador.🙏🏻🙈❤️

Please get a new vet that actually cares about your pet and not just money if a vet tells you it's ok to neuter or spay your pet I promise they do not care about your pet now if they tell you not to they care about your pet mainly because spaying or neutering your pet actually shortens there life span and they are more likely to become depressed or over all give up I know from personal experience I had multiple pets that were neutered and spayed against my own opinion and all but one became depressed and eventually died within a short amount of time only one survived and she absolutely hated people after that

@@dumplingsoupss Yeah, when a male dog is overly excited (not necessary sexually) his penis will come out. My dog is much more calmer now and doesn't mark territory, doesn't hump, and he also has reverted to squatting down to pee at times- which I was not expecting. However, he still has issues with unfixed male dogs which is a bummer.

We had a $2,500 pure breed chihuahua that we spayed along with another male to prevent them from breeding and they both died premature. We regret not getting the chihuahua mated because we wanted a puppy from her and she died a few years after being spayed. They say all kinds of negative things that aren’t true to every dog. My dog is 27 1/2 inches at the shoulders and I’m sure she can fly over the 3 1/2 foot small fence we have yet she don’t go anywhere like they say she would in heat. I would first see if he is ok not fixed and decide for yourself if it is necessary. He most likely will be depressed and grouchy after you fix him from my experience and cut 1/3 of his life span. This is just my personal experience with multiple animals . If you do it do it because you see a reason to not just because they tell you to. Blessings.

Actually please don't do it at all. It is a myth that spaying and neutering does anything for aggression and temperament. If you must, as in you cannot do management, then please consider doing a partial spay or neuter. You may have a difficult time finding a vet that knows how to do it though. The reason is that other bodily functions require those same hormones not just the things he touches on in this video. He is referring to one study. That study showed that when they neutered early, the growth plates don't close in the long bones and it leads to hip and elbow dysplasia, especially in larger dogs. TBH though, there is no way of saying that we know everything metabolically about dog hormones and what those hormones are required for, as far as other certain functions in our dogs bodies and during different stages of life all the way to death. They have hormones for a reason and they change over time for a reason. Just be aware that always spaying and neutering is not the best practice and that their are other options if you seek them out.

Unfortunately most rescue dogs from shelters will be spay/neutered. My local shelter does it as young as 6 weeks. Yes 6 weeks not months. A lot of shelters do it that early most of them do. They've gone crazy pushing routine spay/neuter on everyone and everything when its failed to control the pet population. I'm wondering why they don't do vasectomy or the female equivalent tube tying i think its called? Those would be much less invasive and cheaper. Also the overall health of the animal would improve. They need hormones early in life and also when they get older. Having an intact dog especially a male comes with some sexual behavior but as pet owners we have a responsibility to make the effort to work through the problems that arise rather than cutting out the hormones its not good for their long term health.

He was done at 8 months he was 70 pounds. He is now 115 pounds fit and lean and taller than he was at that age. He is full of energy and is walked four times a day. I do wish I did not I feel bad but at the end of the day it’s choice but if you have a huge breed be sure to get good advance training. Interesting we got him from a couple who never fixed their dogs. I would loved to have breed him for this mix because it is a great mix. The K9’s come from breeders with in law enforcement and there is no relation to the parents . Furthermore law enforcement also breed their own dogs for K9 use now a days. Yes German Shepards do commonly get hip dysplasia and do sometimes come from genetics but that does not mean the parents are inbred. They also get it from the amount of work / activity that they do.

It actually depends on the dog and the dogs genetic code. Some dogs do better neutering early, others not so much. What this guy is saying is partially true. It does stunt the development of joint plates. And in some dogs the small amount of underdevelopment can be enough to cause problems but at the same time some of those dogs could have developed issues regardless of neutering or not. Incorrect, in regards to the effect on growth hormones, research has shown that spaying and neutering can lead to a slight increase in weight and a slower growth rate in dogs, as the removal of the reproductive organs affects the levels of the hormones that regulate growth. However, this effect is generally minimal and should not have a significant impact on the dog's overall development. It is important to note that there are many factors that can influence a dog's growth and development, including breed, genetics, nutrition, and exercise. Proper care and attention to these factors are crucial to ensuring the healthy growth and development of your dog. According to a study published in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, spaying and neutering can lead to a slight increase in weight and a slower growth rate in dogs, but the effect is generally minimal. Other factors such as breed, genetics, nutrition, and exercise play a more significant role in a dog's growth and development.

I also highlight the importance of proper care and attention to these factors in ensuring the healthy growth and development of a dog. TLDR: I’m emphasizing that actual research suggests the effects of what the original video creator described are highly dramatized and have little to no impact on the growth and development of a dog.

I know a breeder who neuter and spays her puppies at 8 weeks before they go to their homes at 9 weeks because she doesn’t want anyone breeding them and she calls the breed miniature schnauzers and they do stay lil but never grow out of the puppy crazy energy behavior I believe this is why

I waited for 2 years, then 3, now I feel bad to spay my baby and put her under the knife. The only thing I am worried about is pyrometra, nothing else. If I can avoid pyometra, I would let her be intact as nature intended.

I had so many dogs and all my neutered and spayed dogs died early and had hair, bones, muscle changes after a few years. Some got depressed while others got feisty. I regret it big time. Now I don’t even think about it. My cats are adopted, spayed and now have arthritis and messed up in many ways. Don’t do it. Don’t get a dog if you cannot Handel an unaltered dog. My current Doberman female is absolutely healthy, muscular and beautiful. I will never spay her and I will deal with any heat problems. Show love to your dogs. Don’t do it or your best friend will suffer hormonal complications.

Never neutere your dogs unless its medicalally needed... Its gonna do worse than any good. if you're worried about them getting pregnant dont let them. And if you can't keep your two dogs from mating you shouldn't have dogs lol😂

Dont spay or neuter at all ins unesscesary if you cant stop your dog from getting pregnant or getting another dog pregnant your an irresponsible owner and shouldn’t own a dog in the first place neutering and spaying dogs is abuse and your taking their natural bodily functions away from them not cool

ok lets assume that there are mosquitos now you would want that mosquito to stop breeding or sucking ur blood that is why neutering is good, it can lead to more puppies or other shit that you dont want and also cancer

I am waiting until my blue nose is 3 to neuter him for this exact reason. I got my female brindle from a rescue, and they spayed her. They did a bad job and left pieces of her ovaries inside, so she still sends off heat cycles twice a year for about a week! This causes my blue nose to break out in hives and act totally out of his mind. I have to keep them separate during this time. It's kinda a nightmare.

Logic and common sense tells you an intact dog is just as likely to get “testicular cancer” like a human & that’s like 1000 to 1. If you can’t train your dog just say it. I own a Yorkshire Terrier, 8 months old. Stubborn yet, consistency has proven to work as we live on the 3rd floor and uses a puppy pad for both 1 & 2. Still uses the bath room outside on walks. Accidents are not as frequent but have been more of a thing this past month. Discipline and not giving up.
