When Kris gives her compliments I always feel better about myself for a second, but when she commented about my hands it hit different. I've had an extreme case of eczema my entire life, causing my hands to be wrinkley and dry. I was bullied for it in school, and I've always hated my hands. I've always just wanted "normal hands" Now that I'm older I'm fine with them, but I just wanted to say thank you Kris. It's a very strange thing that probably only affected me, but it made my day.

I once had a first date at a wave pool. As soon as we got there the waves started up and I was *so* excited to get in. He was confused and straight asked "Wait, you're actually gonna swim?" When I said yes and pointed out we were at a pool, this man straight admitted he thought I wanted to go to show off in a bikini because "that's what post girls (he) dated did." He'd never actually swum on a swimming date! When I did convince him to get in, he would get back out every few minutes and insist I watch him do some trick dive in. All I wanted to do was swim like merpeople in a storm and this boy really just expected us to sit around and stare at each other. There was not a second date.

One night, the fire alarm went off, and everyone evacuated, including my aunt, uncle and cousins. They were freaking out trying to text us, but we wouldn’t reply. My mom remembers hearing the faintest sound of the sentence, “You can go back to your rooms now.” My sister and I wake up and find out that we all slept through a fire alarm, and didn’t hear a thing. That’s how heavy we sleep.
