The princess Kate Middleton, who is married to Britain’s Prince William, appeared in a pre-recorded clip playing an instrumental version of Kalush Orchestra’s winning song “Stefania” on the piano, which she recorded in the Crimson Drawing Room of Windsor Castle earlier this month. The clip was part of a montage of different artists - including Lloyd-Webber and Ms Banks - who performed a version of the song alongside Kalush Orchestra themselves. Also featuring in the line-up were last year’s runner-up Sam Ryder, Ballet Black, Bolt Strings, and Joss Stone.

Kalush Orchestra, 2022's winner, mixed video recorded in Ukraine with live performance in Liverpool in an opening sequence that included a cameo appearance from Britain's Kate, Princess of Wales, playing the piano, the beautiful voice of Joss Stone, my local singer/songwriter and Andrew Lloyd Webber on piano. But as the contest was underway, Russian missiles hit the western Ukrainian city of Ternopil, home to electro-pop duo Tvorchi, this year's entry from the country.

Brought a tear to my eyes. They held a very gracious opening to this Eurovision. Oleg looked very serious on that stage. It was very bittersweet and memorable. had a chance to hear them live, so interesting and cool. they rap AND harmonize and play instruments. and they sound very modern using folk elements. it is a real 21st century band with roots in the 16th
