when you Tighten the Nuts, you need to also Hold the Bolt from turning (looks like with a Hex Key). You Turned Both so there was no Tightening effect.

The new model includes a warning not to lift by the hinge (not just side hinges). This doesn't leave much for the second person to hold on to, and results in one person holding most of the weight. Maybe link to an updated video.

good video John. this is a much easier process than my big green egg. Kudos to KJ for the pre-assembled base and pre-installed rings/hinge.

I just got mine yesterday and noticed things are slightly different now, nothing hard to figure out. Perhaps and edit of this video is in order.

I just unboxed my Big Joe this last weekend. I noticed there were three small sections of felt type material under the firebox, are those supposed to remain on the FB or do they need to be removed? I was not sure if those are just for transport puposes or those need to stay on, I can't imagine they would not burn up if left on.

Question about the looking nuts that hold the base and the lid: is there a risk of tightening too much? Just bought my classic today and I am worried about cracking the ceramic if I go too hard

how come my fire box and fire ring don't have the expansion cut through them?

I really struggled with these instructions, which match the ones in the documentation, because when you have your hand in the lower vent to lift, as you lower onto the cart your hand will get trapped in the cart cage. How are you meant to move these things? :)

What's the weight of the grill when you put in inside the frame? Without the extra parts inside it. Thinking should ask my friend to help lift it or ask the wife.

I just brought home a Big Joe. Does anyone have any tips for what to hold on to when putting it in the cart?
@jameslester67857 жыл бұрын
I held at the chimney and the bottom air vent while my wife held the bottom of the hinge. If you set the hinge in the cradle first you can tip the ceramic back enough to get your hand out of the vent.

Saw "Made in China" right on the front of the box, thought they were made here in the U.S., sad to see that isn't the case...
