@@TilakMichael are u sure anybody other than kamal would have taken the risk to shoot this movie? also the director himself said kamal was part of story discussions when only the initial line was said by the director and kamal was the one who went with the director for choosing the location and he was the one who chose this unexplored cave which has now bcome the landmark...i never said all credit shld go to kamal but when u compare with current generation heroes or even the heroes during his times, kamal was way ahead of anyone...

Nammala suthi neraiya story, inspirations, nostalgic from good old movies irukku but Tamil Cinema is repeating useless scripts with caste, drugs, corporates and politics. Exceptions are Chittha, Parking, Kadaisi Vivasayi, Ayothi over the last few years. A single theme can create powerful movies e.g. love , friendship, and humanity. Manjummel Boys is themed with friendship which no one had talked about for years.

It true that ranjith maari selvraj vetti maaran ameer bala nu spoke about caste and they spoiled tamil cinema … Bharathiraja did cast kamal and created greta movies. Balachander also cast kamal and created great movies. There was no caste during that time.

Only 3 concepts make 75% of tamil movies past few years: 1) caste Oppression / Suppression 2) Drugs and Guns 3) Cringe horrors and cringe commercials Few exceptions like Kadaisi vivasayi, Ayothi, Maanadu, Thunivu, Jigar xx, PS1, soorarai potru, Parking (to an extent) which gave a good experience with different theme.
