Today we compare the slowboot time to the fastboot time on the Phoenix radios Tesla style android head unit for the Tundra.

I have a problem, out of curiosity I touched the option: bluethoot name set and changed it to another one (it didn't mention the original name). Bluethoot doesn't work for me at all now. Do you have any recommendations? Try a hard reset and stay exactly the same.

I have a PX6 unit in a Lexus GS 2008. If the PX6 sits for 24+ hours and no start the Fast boot will not work. If after 24+ hours I start the car PX6 will slow boot and it will go into a BOOT LOOP. It will boot loop 10 times and then load home screen. I did talk to Phenix auto and they had no fix. Also, on restart if less than 24 hours for restart the audio will auto play and the sound is LOUD. I must turn down fast. The sound is only loud for about 2 or 3 seconds but speakers sound like they could be damaged. I set my auto play to off and only play audio after 3 sec or more. My AC Cooling worked fine for 5 months after new install however now the Air heat will not get hot or warm. This may be a Lexus issue but I am not sure yet.

I have an 07 gs350 and you need to get Sergey firmware trust me it’s worth it and with different customization it gives the unit a new look an you could do more plus Sergey helps with any problems you may have

I'm pretty sure what I'm seeing is a car feature. Try turning it off and open the door then see if it fast boot.

That is a tough one. The Bluetooth is separate from the android os so it may need a full firmware reflash to get the Bluetooth back to stock. Is this a Phoenix brand unit or something better like Klyde?

i have android 6 on my tesla radio . is android 8.1 better? i tried installing netflix from the play store and did not work .

Netflix has issues with these devices. It requires a modified version of application to work.

Phoenix should add a rechargeable battery so it keeps the settings for days.

It does keep the settings for... well indefinitely. It is only the boot time and last app opened that are different between a "fastboot" and "slowboot".

Are all their 8.1 Android units fastboot?

Currently there is no PX6 "fastboot". They are supposed to be releasing a true fastboot like the PX3 in the coming weeks. However it is most likely going to be newer android version also. The current PX6 is not totally slowboot but it is not instant on like the fastboot PX3.

Hi, in the video you say that this is the 2nd gen unit. I am certain that you are showing the 3rd gen unit. The 2nd gen did not have any knobs, and 1st gen had a/c knobs. Can you please clarify. Thanks!

For 07-13 Tundras there is only one option that I know of: www.phoenixautomotiveinc.com/collections/all/products/13-6-android-vertical-screen-navigation-radio-for-toyota-tundra-2007-2013 For 14+ Tundras there are currently 3 options: Gen1 had only A/C knobs and was slowboot: www.phoenixautomotiveinc.com/collections/all/products/12-1-android-7-1-vertical-screen-navigation-radio-for-toyota-tundra-2014-2018 Gen2 has two different models (knobs/no knobs) but I have the one with volume knobs/buttons and is fastboot, PX3 processor 2GB ram/ 32GB storage: (cannot find link to the no knob one) www.phoenixautomotiveinc.com/collections/all/products/12-1-android-7-1-fast-boot-vertical-screen-navi-radio-for-toyota-tundra-2014-2018 Gen3 has knobs and is slowboot (currently), PX6 processor, 4GB ram/ 64GB storage: www.phoenixautomotiveinc.com/collections/all/products/12-1-android-8-1-fast-boot-vertical-screen-navi-radio-for-toyota-tundra-2014-2019

I lost the display of the a/c at the bottom of the screen an it was taken over by the Bluetooth, and don’t know how to get back the a/c control

you have to plug in your old head unit and turn the a/c on, then put the new one back in

Is there a setting I can change to keep my AC from turning off when the unit boots up? Initially it keep whatever setting was picked when I turned the truck off. But when it boots up shortly after it turns off. I have the fast boot model radio.

Fastboot is a hardware deal. No firmware can make a slow boot unit into a fastboot one.

That has been over a year ago when I bought mine and before all this global shutdown stuff. It is hard to say how long it will be now but last I heard people were getting them within a week or two.
