MTG Neon Dynasty Draft Guide time! In this guide I cover everything you need to know to improve your drafting of MTG NEO. I cover the basics starting with the mechanics and best commons through to deckbuilding and gameplay tips. This is a more advanced guide than my prerelease guides and is meant for those more familiar with the set.
Whether you're drafting on MTG Arena or in paper, this video will help you feel more confident and improve your drafting for our latest return to Kamigawa. There's a lot to take in, a lot of complexities, and a TON of card text to wade through. And, you can trust that I've put a lot of time and effort into making these the best, most concise draft guides on the internet.

Really great guide, great job man, hope this video gets the recognition it deserves ! Currently playing a draft with blue white flyers/ vehicules and i must say, even though i dislike vehicules and blue white, it is one hell of a draft deck if you get the right cards ! Currently sitting on 5/1 but pretty sure i can get the 7 !

Great guide. Ive played the limited bot draft on arena and Imperial Oath / Sunblade Sams came in clutch. so far 4-0 white black

You are totally spot on with the U/W archetype! I drafted a U/W build that was super grindy and ended up pulling out 6 wins! It consisted of a couple top-end beater vehicles, the gold vehicle, board wipe and a bunch of card draw. T'was good fun :)

Dude thanks! I have been struggling with draft as I am new to it. TBH I have watched multiple videos and yours actually helped me get the wins! The deck building tips at the end really hit the message home with 2 drops!! Thanks so much

What’s been your favorite color pair to draft in Neon Dynasty? EDIT UPDATE: U/W vehicles is a trap, DO NOT focus heavy on vehicles. It’s more effective relying on control. The artifact deck can be any combination of Grixis colors and relies on aggro game plans with high synergy/high value game plans.

I'm liking green as a primary with any other color or any other color as a primary with black as a decent secondary. Yeah, I know, I really nailed down a position. #noncommittal At least I agree with you, so no one else should want to chastise me and tell me I'm wrong.

It has been great and the 2 life gain is not inconsequential. Maybe I just need to do a ranking video for every card - especially for green because they have so many good cards!

best guide for the draft set.... can you give a list of shrine draft ideas?

Think of Shrines as the "secret sauce" to win with, but still build a deck focused on a separate game plan. Green White sagas is a great way to shoehorn in Shrines as another awesome wincon for a deck. Do not start just forcing Shrines, but focus on building a good deck - but I usually wind up in Shrines from a Green/White deck start. Then, if you get a mid pack shrine like the green or white one, take that a sign some shrines may be open. I like green white a lot too, because Shrine Steward can grab Auras as well, which you find a few of that are really strong in those color. The Stewards are always solid late pack pickups if you wind up in the deck. Last tip - Make sure you prioritize the dual lands as well - and getting a Terrarium is also very helpful to make sure you get the right color lands. It's a deck that when it works, feels as good as any. But, going 5 colors can just be clunky, especially as the format turns more aggro the more people understand it. The green 1/1 deathtouch and 3/3 defender creatures really help gum up the board and buy you time.

I would like to ask you to do (or suggest) a beginner guide for drafting. I mean, I'm not exactly a beginner in this format. But since I returned to mtga I've struggled get the wins. I feel like I'm doing something wrong in deck building, like how many creatures to pick, how to build with a food mana curve, removals, getting a solid strategy and so on. The last NEO quick draft I scored 3 losses in a row without any wins with a green white deck. Even with the "stronger" colors i couldn't score a win😭😭

That's a great idea - maybe I should do a "drafting 101" type video. Don't get discouraged though - drafting is tough and takes time to improve at! It's definitely a unique skillset to playing Magic.

Quick draft is often a more frustrating experience for me, because the format is far more homogenized than I like. I think if you're getting used to a new format like Kamigawa, which has been out for a while - watch a couple draft vids. I really like Numot the Nummy, and his evaluations are top tier. Next would be LSV, just because I love his approach to the game. Watch who drafts/plays what - why they explain the cards they like, and then also watch what their opponents are doing. I generally go Blue/Black ninjas, or White/Black/Green good stuff, or Black/Red artifacts in quick draft. It's fun to play a couple of, but again, gets too homogenized for me to really enjoy. Paper draft of this set is fantastic.

More focus on best commons and a quicker recap of stuff like mechanics and archetypes. Lots of overlap though as they are both focused on Neon Dynasty limited play

Made a kami war deck for my sealed today, went 0-3 but honestly I feel like a won a little bit cause I played it 4 times, 3 of the times it got exiled immediately and 1 of those times my opponent conceded the game and went on to win the next game lmao it was fun but definitely not the great

Red is the worst color no contest, and 17lands and a lot of good players agree.

Appreciate the comment, and the 17lands data is always interesting to watch. I've seen it be ranked the weakest as well or show as such, but that's why I also reiterate to not put too much stock into those rankings. Focus should always be on card quality and finding the open lane.
