@@SoldierOfFate I agree, Kane is something else, you know he is a villain but his motives seem so pure and caring as well as the way he behaves and treats other despite being a confirmed villain and even when talking to Legion even though it is just him and the machine he still sees a way to help the helpless even though Legion wouldn’t really care to if he said he wanted them as a backbone for his army or as loyal vanguards of the cause
@connorhall5665 Жыл бұрын
Old comment but still, its a key part of Kane as a character, Kane cares for few things, he doesn't care for the ambitions or powerplays of those around him, what he cares about within the Brotherhood of Nod is utter loyalty. To him? Loyalty to him is all that matters, he is both Prophet and Messiah all rolled into one, his word is divine, his goals beyond their understanding and his reasoning unquestionable and so to him? Those that doubt or question him are more then just traitors, they are heretics who stand against a divine goal. He will always value those utterly loyal to him, an utterly loyal commander is far more valuable to him then even his very own second in command and his petty, jealous quest for revenge against the commander for slighting him and so, Seth earns what he deserved, an unceremonious bullet to the head.
@TheNapster153 Жыл бұрын
@@connorhall5665 I've heard that if we go by his presumed Biblical origins, Kane's forming of the Brotherhood is in a way a projection of his guilt over killing his brother, which I think is a great aspect of his character. In my personal idea of a proper end to the Tiberium Saga, Kane gets his own personal redemption in the form of LEGION whom he treats as his own flesh and blood. As his equal and most loyal servant, he's willing to pull alll the stops himself to save the AI. In the final mission I had in mind, he personally leads Nod in a bid to rescue LEGION from harm, and this is covered as the closing story for the Tiberium Visionary.
@demonking86420 Жыл бұрын
It's either he is genuinely appreciative of their loyalty or he's also giving potential traitors a sense of security as a way to bait out the ambitions said traitors might have Either way, Kane gets the ball in his court, either he baits out the traitors or he gives loyalists a chance to prove themselves.

Even 20 years later, I can't understand how Westwood managed to pull these scenes off despite they were more or less shot in a basement. Maybe they were blessed by the magnificent Joseph D. Kucan's presence, perhaps? Also, Kane's rather snarky-sounding comment of congratulating the Commander for his promotion always gets me, even though he just painted the area with Seth's brains - it's as if he was itching to get rid of the latter, but couldn't find the right moment to do so. I think it goes to show that even with few tools and a modest budget, if you have skill and genuine passion for what you are doing, you can make magic happen. The scene shows Kane's intelligence (he knew exactly what Seth was up to), his stealth, his ruthlessness and his dark sense of humor.
@radg88945 жыл бұрын
Joseph D. Kucan wasn't an actor, he was in charge of directing the FMV sequences at Westwood studios in house. Kane was frankly the role Kucan was born to play and thankfully he put every piece of passion into the project because he was invested in what the studio was doing.
@BobisOnlyBob5 жыл бұрын
I think it's a bit misleading to say Kucan wasn't an actor, but he wasn't a professional hire for the role. His background was in theatre, directing, and he'd done voice-over work for games prior to C&C but this was his first major role as an actor - and it only became so important and significant in retrospect!
