🥁Drummer Yoyoka’s BIOGRAPHY🥁
Born in October 2009, YOYOKA started playing drums at the age of two, played live at four, and formed her family band "Kaneaiyoyoka" at five. When she was six years old, she released her first CD while in kindergarten.
In addition to drums, YOYOKA sings, plays the piano, and is a songwriter. In 2018, at the age of eight, she became the youngest weekly champion in the under-18 category of the international female drummer contest "Hit Like A Girl". Her application video, a cover of Led Zeppelin's "Good Times Bad Times" was featured on NBC, NPR, in Rolling Stone Magazine and in Billboard and then spread all over the world. Her drumming prowess has been praised by music legends such as Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin), Ian Paice( Deep Purple), Roger Taylor(Queen), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Sheryl Crow, Gene Simmons and Eric Singer (KISS), Kim Gordon (Sonic Youth), Hayley Williams (Paramore), Sass Jordan, Tony Royster Jr., Brad Wilk (Rage Against the Machine), Derrick McKenzie (Jamiroquai) and many more.
In 2018, at the age of eight, YOYOKA appeared in Japan's famous rock festival "RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL in EZO" as the youngest performer ever. The following year, she made a surprise appearance Fall Out Boy’s stage at Summer Sonic Tokyo 2019 in front of an 20,000 audience. Later that year, she was invited to Cyndi Lauper’s show at Tokyo Orchard Hall as the guest drummer for two songs on the last day of her Japan tour.
YOYOKA is endorsed by world-class brands such as Nike, Moncler, and UNIQLO. In 2018, she shot a Nike campaign in Thailand, followed by a Moncler campaign shoot in New York in 2019. She became the face of Moncler alongside actor Will Smith. Both campaigns were launched worldwide and were very well-received.
Already at the age of eight, YOYOKA became the youngest drummer ever to sign an endorsement contracts with drum makers Pearl and VIC FIRTH. Since then, she has also signed with Zildjian, CYMPAD and DW.
YOYOKA’s attention from the world does not stop. In January and May 2018, YOYOKA was invited to LA twice to make an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, one of the most popular show in the United States, where she was praised by Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters who made a shoutout to her on the show. She also impressed the audience with a successful show at the legendary live house "Whisky A Go Go".
In April 2019, YOYOKA was selected as Newsweek's "100 Japanese People Respected by the World" and "World's TOP500 drummers” by Drummer World, both the youngest in history.
In 2020, Pearl showcased her talent at the 2020 NAMM show in Anaheim, the world’s largest musical instruments trade show. She was the youngest female and only Japanese drummer ever to appear.
The impact of YOYOKA continues to spread worldwide. Her favorite drummers are John Henry Bonham, Chris Coleman, Nate Smith, Chad Smith and Dave Grohl. Her dream is to travel and play sessions with people all over the world.

I was ten years old when I started playing drums. I'd sit in my room playing beats for hours, just me and my drum set. In 7th grade I did a talent show and I was shocked at the reaction. I was instantly popular and had guys lining up to try to start a band with me. I was 15 when this album came out and I was blown away. I'd sit in my room and work on this song and it was never perfect. Yoyokas performance here was closer to perfect than I'll ever get. So amazing. It took me back to those days in my teenage years when drumming was my life and the excitement of playing in front of people was brand new. Thank you Yoyoka, you are truly amazing. Tears in my eyes.

Let me understand this. At 64 years old you need the validation of thousands of others so that you don't feel "ridiculous or embarrassed" for liking Yoyoka's drumming? @@don7294 Anybody too ashamed to like something ON THEIR OWN, without feeling embarrassed or ridiculous, is probably a ridiculous person to begin with. Michael Jackson was 9 years old when he and his brothers shot to superstardom. They were a household name and some of the most talented musicians Motown had ever produced. Being embarrassed to like Yoyoka without other people feeling the same way, is like being embarrassed to like the Jackson 5 and THAT is plain crazy.
@MegaHogzilla

@@jackspratt7264 I doubt that's what he's talking about. I'm 52 years old. I started playing guitar when I was 15. Several years ago, my brother (who plays bass guitar) shared a Babymetal video with me. I love their stuff. As a result, I got Li-Sa-X, Yoyoka, and Kanade Sato in my recommendations. I love them all too. Every one of them is a gifted and truly talented musician. But whenever I try to share them with others I frequently get the insinuation that I'm some kind of a perv who has a thing for little girls. They don't walk away from the video thinking I'm a 52 year old man impressed by the musicianship of a child prodigy. Many times they don't get how rare and impressive this sort of thing is and just walk away thinking I'm creepy. They may even comment on how good the musician is but still think I'm creepy for liking it. So I understand the original commentor's apprehension.
@jackspratt7264
@jackspratt7264 2 жыл бұрын
@@MegaHogzilla First of all the original commenter didn't mention creepiness or perversion. That's YOU projecting whatever is going on in your circles onto him. He distinctly used the words "ridiculous and embarrassed" which do not remotely have the same connotations as the words you brought into the mix. And honestly if the peer group you try to share Yoyoka's talent with jumps to those conclusions about you for sharing her music with them, then you need to find a new set of friends, sincerely... unless they know something about you that would make their minds head in that direction. Unless you're sharing her videos with strangers you meet on the street, you're sharing them with friends and colleagues and if that's how your friends think of you for sharing a damned drum video, then you have WAY BIGGER issues than a kid's drum videos to address in your camp. I'm 46 and the people I share her videos with, men, women and kids, simply respect her talent and then share the videos with their friends. No one's mind heads anywhere near the depravity you were talking about. Sorry, man, but that's just weird.

@@jonathansmith3742 no, they absolutely should not do it. It would be a tragic, awful pastiche of what Led Zeppelin was. We have the concert films including the 2007 reunion. 15 years on and Plant's voice hasn't regained its ability to get high up, neither has he shown any willingness to reconsider his opposition. As much as I would have loved to see LZ live, I just have to accept I was born too late and that, short of time travel being invented, I never will see them. I'd rather go without than go to see some octogenarian tribute act to what those three men and the fourth's father used to be half a century ago.

Those 2 seconds from 2:48 should scare you, all of you. Watch that about 50 times in a row and you'll start to notice how she's perfectly ahead of her hands with her head movements, torso, shoulders and her wrists. There is no besting her, physically, because she's perfect. She can't yet hit as hard as Bonham did but she'll reach that in time. If you're out there thinking you're up to something untouchable, all she has to do is decide it's interesting enough to her to spend the time on and she will have it. As Yoyoka grows she's not just developing - she's stalking all of you who have any chance of ever being on the cover of any drum related anything. She's a sober Buddy Rich who can take on anyone on the planet by the age of 12, not 36. She will be the greatest drummer of all time.

Neither of them are even close to the best drummers ever...They're great and were instrumental in my development as a drummer in the 70's and 80's but; technically; they're middle of the pack...Any of Zappa's drummers are technically better... As well in Rock, Ian Paice, Carl Palmer, Simon Phillips, Billy Cobham, et al... Buddy Rich, and almost the entire jazz drummer collective...Technically...Bonzo is a powerful and melodic drummer with amazing chops; and Neil, God rest both their souls, is the same way with a bit less power...But; his writing is what makes him the greatest lyric writing drummer ever.. Yoyoko is playing well above her age...If she sticks with it; she could be a great drummer; I hope she spends the time to learn her instrument...When she's playing Caravan, or One Word from Mahavishnu Orchestra, I'll be impressed...

I just turned 60 years old and I was about Yoyoka's age now when this song hit the airwaves ! FM radio was in its infancy and only a few and far between rock stations could be found but when you did you got to experience songs and albums in their entirety and I remember this one on WABX Detroit as if it were only yesterday! And Yoyoka, as I have stated here quite a few times, you NEVER cease to amaze me!!!! You have now reached a level that has no words to describe it! It goes without saying that all kinds of drugs were pretty damn prevalent back in the 70's but now that I older and hopefully just a bit wiser, whenever I need a quick "pick me up" my "drug of choice" is the latest Yoyoka video! You keep rockin' little one.....We love ya here in Balmy Las Vegas, Nevada!
