Random GUY I don’t agree. There was nothing evil here. They were soldiers fighting for their countries. The Nazi cause was evil but the average German soldier wasn’t a Nazi, didn’t belong to the party. I certainly don’t think the Allied cause was evil. Is it evil to kill an opposing soldier in war ? No it isn’t.
@zimmor26265 жыл бұрын
@@XXX-qk2cq The answer to your question should be: No, unfortunately not. This only applies if he has to defend his life. Today you should not kill the opponent, at least with the German army, but make "incapacitated". It is at least official.

11:40 - I was in graduate school years ago and had a neighbor down the street I became acquainted with as he went on his daily walk. He was a WWII veteran. I had been a soldier also so he opened up his experiences and described a young German soldier who surrendered to his unit one day much like this young man, not much more than a kid. The young German soldier was scared as shit, can't blame him. This happened near the end of the war according to his story much like this clip probably.

"The Truth" Is that the Nazis were terrible people, killing millions of Slavs, Jews, etc for a false image of Üntermensch and Übermensch. The Communists were no better, don't get me wrong, but just because one is bad doesn't mean one is good. The average soldier was the average man and didn't deserve what they had to go through, but saying that some Neo Nazi "Everything is a Jewish Communist Rothschild conspiracy" propaganda just makes you look ignorant.

The “Americans” talked with a heavy European accent. He said “Check if anybody survives”, “Survives” in itself is a bit wrong. Besides, an American would say “Check for survivors”. This is a great short film. Shows a lot of emotions like fear, anger, worry, and shows reality from the German side. How can you win a war when, the so called soldiers are inexperienced, untrained men?

I really enjoy these little films. They give us a perspective of the war few Americans realize. My uncles told me that after December 1944 the pilfering of dead soldiers which occurred on both sides had slowed. German soldiers had very little in way of cigarettes, food, and grenades. But even then it was remarkable the German army was supplied so well up until 1945. A lot of soldiers surrendered to us because they were hungry and out of ammunition.

Nicely done. My only criticism would be the silly facial hair on the American troops. That would have never been allowed with Patton in charge. Full-facial stubble from not being able to shave is one thing, but a trimmed goatee - never. It contrasts with great detail you put into the rest of the video. My father was a bazookaman in the US 318th infantry in '45. My war was Vietnam '70-'71.

Any war is actually a great terrible waste of fine soldiers, oh well war is war. But yet it has to be done for ones own citizens and countries. Please don't actually hate the enemy soldiers who has to fight it but yet hate the politics and leaders who put them there in the first place.
