As a Utah fan who wants nothing but failure and humiliation for BYU, I think you're quite correct that they will be a legit threat in Big 12 conference play no matter their record. Utah and BYU don't play this year for only the second or third time in about the last century, for which I'm happy; and I'm pissed off that the PAC12 is dissolving, which will put BYU and Utah back together in the same conference next year like they were for years in the Mountain West, the WAC before that, and some other old conference before that. BYU is always dangerous.

If you're talking about the last INT, I think he did. The receiver was well covered and there was a safety breaking to the WR, so if he'd floated the ball the safety makes the play more than likely. But it was also 4th and 7, so if they don't make a play, KU gets the ball back anyway, so I think he thought that throwing to the guy even if he wasn't open, was better than just throwing the ball away. Nothing to lose there. The INT-TD though was a bad read and a bad throw. But in a game where he threw 51 times, I think it's expected he's going to make at least one of those.

I watched it in real time. he also made some of the dumbest errors in trying to force the ball in places that were clearly not open. He made some incredible throws that only he can make imma be honest but there's a reason this is his 3rd team. He has all the talent in that arm but his head leaves something to be desired. Though I will say if you have a balance run and pass game hopefully some of those windows are bigger for his throughs. BYU was one dementional with no run game. But He just can't stop throwing to the other color jersey. That's what's going to be what stops him from being successful.

So he had nothing to lose on that throw even though the WR was well covered. On the INT TD return, that was a bad mistake. It was 3rd and 10 though, and I think he was just trying to make something happen. Should have thrown it away and punted. But when you throw 51 times, you're going to make a couple mistakes. He did make some fine throws to well covered receivers, and threaded into tight coverage a couple of times. Could have had more INTs if he wasn't as accurate as he was. But a good QB knows his ability and will make those throws knowing he can get away with it most of the time. Shows he has confidence in his arm. That's a good thing.

Well actually you have to look at each turnover as a denied possession in which case the ball goes to Kansas and it requires that KU drive and score. I figure KU would have scored on one of those two possessions which means the game could have gone to overtime. That's how I saw the matchup...as a toss up. But afterward I think KU is still sand bagging, hoping to keep a few capabilities under the radar. Byu will win more games than they lose in this conference. Getting post mission players is a strategic advantage for BYU. Two years older and wiser is no small thing. The Holy War will settle this conference many times i imagine.

I've watched the tackle a few times now and live it looks bad, but I see on the replay that it was a shoulder-to-shoulder clean hit. Every play is reviewed, and every scoring play is reviewed, even if the officials didn't see it live, the replay booth can call down to review the hit for targeting. They saw it as a clean hit too. Anyway, it was an entertaining game to watch, and I look forward to seeing these two teams compete in all sports in the future. Welcome to the Big 12.

The first contact was shoulder to shoulder you see the BYU’s players left shoulder peel back before the helmets clash. It was clean, quit complaining or they are gonna end up turning this beautiful game into flag football.

I actually thought it looked like targeting as well, but the refs did not call it. Whether the shoulder hit first or not, it still drove straight into his chin. I think he was momentarily out on his feet causing the fumble. But after looking at it several times I don't think it was intentional; you can see the runner lowering to take the hit which dropped his chin right into the shoulder. I hope the docs take a good look at him. TBI is no joke.

Argument could be made for a PI. Rex should know better than to reach back and tip a ball up like that. But that wasn't targeting on the scoop and score.
