Nigeria is a beautiful place with diversity of traditions and cultures.It was fun and an eye opener to have been part of a Kanuri wedding and to have experienced this.The food,the dance,the music and the mood.

I really missed Maiduguri. The chicken suya, the food and the fragrance. The best frankincense in the world is from Borno State. My success was from Borno state. Good memories thou. I am spending the rest of my life in Borno if God permit. I say Kilewa-sile.

In the South, we really can't tell a Kanuri from hausa person. What are some key ways to identify Kanuri people? Do they speak their language or is it mostly Hausa spoken?

I'm not too sure about any distinctive difference but one thing for sure is that they are very beautiful people and they speak both languages

Depends what kind of West or East african you are comparing them to. They lived there for centuries and share definitely genes, cultural and historical similarities with West africans especially those from the Sahel

Well that could be because no one in Nigeria is known as what is considered today's ''Bantu Peoples'', maybe have a read here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bantu_peoples for further info.

Bantu is a language group. West Africans also speak Afro asiatic and nilo Saharan language . All African can trace their dna to North Africa
