idk if you guys were aware but the context is important for this video. it was filmed live during his last listening party where he had a re-creation of his mother's house built in soldiers field in chicago where he grew up. he actually set himself on fire and it's kim in the wedding dress. essentially he's absolving himself of all his sins in the eyes of his mother for the mother of his children to try to be a better man going forward.

Kanye has a special hatred of Nike bc he absolutely loves the brand but they treated him terribly. He created his own Jordan with his own money which they benefited. He wanted a deal to redesign his favorite shoes and release them as limited addition but the baulk at the offer. Addidas came in a gave him his own brand and complete freedom. Shortly after the deal Nike gave his protege Travis Scott the deal he wanted to redesign Jordans. They also gave another protege Virgil Aboloh and his brand Off White a similar deal as well.

I was waiting for "One more time" chorus to start in any moment but the choir killed my expectations. The piano is absurd, so sick. I disliked the video, not because it wasn't good, I mean the photography in black and white with she walking in her wedding dress is absurd, but it distracted me from the lyrics. I expected it goes to something bigger too, and I'm a bit disappointed but the song is wonderful! I enjoyed so much. About the "you must divide the person from their art" I disagree, but not because I think it's easy to be a star: I actually think Johnny is 100% right about how much pressure a huge artist must face constantly. They may be gods of music, but they're humans for the rest and people screw up for much more less. To understand it I don't think we need any separation process: being good, great in something doesn't mean you are in everything nor you are invincible. Plus mental health can't be a stigma, for anybody. I never met someone who said they didn't listen to Britney Spears songs when she had the breakdown or immediately after and I would laugh out loud if it'd ever happen. Did I think running for the presidency was cool? Not at all, Yesus. Did I like the song? Definitely! I still I don't even know the word cause mad isn't appropriate with him when he said back people deserved slavery and I can't understand how a black person can supported Trump. And I like many songs by him - I am not a fan per se too.
