First Harley ride was a near new Shovel Sportster. Actually my first v twin ride. Awesome.

A guy in Richmond Indiana (George Shade) that owned H-D center dealership had/has one. He passed away a few years ago so I’m sure his son still has his collection. It was a 77 XLCH that was never registered/sold. So it’s 100% original. He had it on display at his dealership.

That beautiful 77 xl never spun up a dyno like a Z1 but just look at it. Poetry in motion🏆

XLCR (extra large cafe racer). Harley would do themselves well to get into the “modern classic-retro” market with that 1250 Rev. Max Cafe Racer they teased in 2020, ties back to the XLCR with same coffin tank.

My old mans buddy came by recently and said something I will never forget now..he’s a old time biker club guy who’s been there done it and still doing it type. He said mannnn you have to go 100mph on the 1 wheel to (try to look cool) on one of those jap bikes. When your riding a Harley if you break down you can kick your feet up on the bars and look cool just sitting on the side of the road. Lol maybe ya had to be there to hear it but it sounded right.

Sputhe engineering used to build and sell a complete aluminum top end for the old iron heads ..the 1st XR's we're 900cc iron heads ...and then the AMA in 1970 passed a rule all brands would be 750cc ...that's when Harley built the all aluminium two carbs 750cc ..and Norton, BSA, and Triumphs got 750cc jugs and Rickman 8 value heads ...speaking of Ohlins ..if you call up Ohlins north Carolina and pay for your shocks you can ride your bike to the importer and they will set the shocks up and install them on your bike setting the sag rebound and compression damping to your weight and cargo all done in house while you sit on your bike ...all this done for free if you buy your shocks at the Hendersonville n.c. facility... I went down there in early May to have my shocks put on my new Diana s .. and it was team andretti was there with their Indy car and had new Ohlins put on all four corners

Wow as a Kawasaki guy that KX is one of the if not the nicest bikes I’ve ever seen as a Kawi guy pure bike porn absolutely gorgeous but as I’ve always thought Kawasaki has the better power but Honda have always had it in the looks department imho my perfect bike would have to be a KX engine in a CR frame with enduro gearing 👌💯🤤perfection. The CR was the worst Harley I ever owned. Overheating problems are a common thing with them but I had the frame crack in 2 places. Handling was like hearing cats...

sporty has a unique tank stay away from the kawai 500 we all know you seceretly want to ride it lol
