THE GRAND FINALE! (3 OF 3) on the 8 acre investment property, aka 8 acre Picker's paradise! Another Big UPDATE today, but first some housekeeping items: First, here is the link to check out the ABI attachments Skid steer implement, tractor implement or ATV/UTV Implement:
www.abiattachm...
Join me today for THE GRAND FINALE SERIES PART 2 OF 3 on the 'Dismantling new 8 acre picker's paradise land investment.' In today's episode I will be using the Bobcat T650 CTL skid steer and the ABI attachments SR3 grading implement to do a final grading of the Pond dam, as well as several other areas of this property. We'll also take a BEFORE look at this pond dam from 3 weeks ago as I was clearing the trees off of it with my Bobcat e42 mini excavator. Also, in this episode I will do a 3RD pass with the SR3 on the pond dam so you can really see what kind of a dirt grade this thing will do in 3 passes! We are grading today with the SR3, so you can get a real good sense of just how far we've come with this 8 acre investment property, Southern Illinois picker's paradise! And stay tuned for the last few segments of this awesome DIY series, You definitely won't want to miss the last few!! LOL. Today the SR3 will be tackling tree root systems, trash, lumber, garbage and more, and you'll get a chance to see how it not only grades the dirt, but piles up the trash so you can easily push it to the side with the SR3 as well. Thanks for joining us, and please, if you enjoy this kind of content, Like and Share it for us to help us grow our audience and Kapper team here on our channel, we'd greatly appreciate that! Also consider subscribing to follow not only this property investment project, but all of our Kioti tractor projects, Bobcat mini excavator projects, Bobcat T650 CTL skid steer projects, our Illinois and Kentucky land management projects, food plots, duck ponds, watering holes, deer land management wildlife habitat improvement projects, wildlife conservation projects, our Kentucky farmhouse rehab project, Mrs. Kapper's rustic DIY barn wood and furniture projects, her DIY rustic farmhouse decor and much more country living adventure! Thank you. Kapper Outdoors (with Curtis Rogers), living the dream, one acre at a time.

I hope it works great for you! I am really liking the sr3. Only thing is have not tried it yet on thick, weedy sod, but I suspect whenever we do something like that it should be mowed down pretty short first. Good luck!

That SR3 sure was put to the test. There was just too much trash and wood for it to do a great job. I feel a little bad that you are not able to do more but you do have a lot of time in the job. You almost had to dig a big hole to put all the stuff that the SR3 dragged up. None the less, it looks great. The new owner will have a good base to work off of. I am so glad that you got some seed on it and it will look nice once it is green again. It would be so cool to see it a year from now. I could watch you all day. Good thing I do not have a job. I wish that I could have been there to help. 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃

From this property came tractors, tires, a tow truck (stuck in tree jail), motor homes, boats, more tires, mobile homes, quality lumber... I could go on and on. I think everyone in at least a 60 mile radius gained something from this. Let's not forget about the adventures of Ron and Casey either. Thanks Kapper, mrs. Kapper and of course Curtis who got us into this mess.😁

Kap, you and Curtis made a wonderful improvement on this piece of land. I'm sure you used up a lot of fuel and sweat in doing so. In watching this finale I cannot help but think a landscape rake and box blade would have done just as good in this preparation of the ground as the SR3, and at a much lower cost. But however, I am only seeing the results thru the lens of a camera and laptop and not in real life as you can. I am looking forward to your future adventures.

You have no idea what the new buyer will have planned for the land so just making it mowable will suffice for now. That will give the seed time to grow and fill in the bare spots for mowing and keeping the seedlings at bay. All the wood and branches will rot away in the grass and no need to haul that stuff away. Looks a lot better from when you started the project.

Yeah, compared to what it looked like at beginning it's an amazing transformation. I see you are not a perfectionist like me. I would have burned all those limbs and would not have piled up roots and stuff at edge of property. House is close to road. I guess you want to sell to someone who will reno house. Was expecting you to demolish house. Buyer could plant a privacy hedge/trees at edge of neighbor's property. I am sure neighbor appreciates all the hard work you did cleaning up that mess. It will increase value of his property. Wish you had mentioned your selling price and clean up cost to give an idea of profit you will make. I would estimate clean up cost in $20,000 range. Hmmmm.... After reading comments I may be way off on estimated clean up cost.

Well, if time were not an issue I'd have liked to make it more neat, but we've both about had it with that place!! lol. I will do a complete cost analysis with real numbers, but only after it is sold so stay tuned. I think some people may be surprised, but you are right it was a big job to tackle on a part time bases with small machines. But once it grows over, the rough edges and piles will not even be noticed. Thanks.
