Tatsuya Naka is a treasure. This celebrates the universal family of martial arts, respecting differences, always being a student and being humble. This is inspirational!

Wikipedia : Fujian White Crane is one of the constituent styles of Five Ancestors, who, in addition to the various styles of Karate (notably Goju-ryu, Shitō-ryū and Uechi-ryu), use the routine "San Chian" from Fujian White Crane. San Chian is best known by the Japanese pronunciation of its name, Sanchin. Sanchin (三戦) is a kata of apparent Southern Chinese (Fujianese) origin that is considered to be the core of several styles, the most well-known being the Okinawan Karate styles of Uechi-Ryū and Gōjū-Ryū, as well as the Chinese martial arts of Fujian White Crane, Five Ancestors, Pangai-noon and the Tiger-Crane Combination style associated with Ang Lian-Huat. Tam Hon taught a style that was called simply "Saam Jin" (Cantonese for "Sanchin").

WingChun - White Crane also use Fan lan Jin 翻浪勁, but I think, the Okinawa master 宮平保 who teach Baiji Juan 八極拳, explained it and demostrate it better.
Are there any English subtitles available on the DVD of this training session? As an ITF Taekwon-Do practitioner I'm also very interested in White Crane Kung Fu.
What is it about watching Chinese people doing kung fu to music that just makes the world a better place?

I love such videos. Not just because of styles many people may think are opposites, but also the different cultures sharing. It is my experance thatcmany times different styles of martial arts tend to use the same moves. Though may have an unique way of doing it from many other styles. As a person becomes more experanced, the more the gap of unique aspects close and evolves more and more simular. It is a great way for both to trade thos aspects, to merge in simular ways much quicker and easier, rather than spend years to subconsciously develop those aspects on their own to a conscious level of doing.

No black belts on the chinese I see. Seems like the belt is more for social structure than actual skill. Chinese use a duan system as well. Great learning.
@nonamegod6665 жыл бұрын
Black belts is something that all japanese styles borrow from judo schools because at the beginning of the 20th century it was easy to students always move from another city to study or work.but even okinawa karate masters only accept it after the second World war,specifically because of their foreigners students. Black belts don't tell who's the best fighter, just the level of knowledge they have inside a particular style

This is what I always wanted to see from Kuro - Obi! Now, it would be great to reconcile & clarify the combat benefits of JKA style training vs White Crane Kung Fu. Or is JKA training geared MORE towards competition? This video is incredibly motivating, inspirational and educational! Based upon the techniques of Tatsuya Naka, it would be fantastic to seem him practice against Sensei Morio Higaonna.

They are demonstrating technique. It becomes more real once you begin partner training. Attack/defend, etc. Hello?
@davidbarnwell_virtual_clas6729 Жыл бұрын
It's a demonstration. Do you see boxers moving about when they're demonstrating things? If they did....you wouldn't be able to see what was happening. Has anyone in any type of knowledge ever demonstrated anything for you in anything other than a simplified fashion? When you were in school and had Physics demonstrations did anyone tell you, "So in real life when you use an inclined plane.", or did you accept that you were learning a principle that could be applied elsewhere? Same thing here. You honestly act like you don't understand what a demonstration is.

The true style of kanryo higaonna is white crane. Between shotokan and kanryo higaonna has a far difference because of the different master that funakoshi has learnt before

There is no credible evidence of Kanryo Higaonna having ever studied White Crane.

Ville-Pekka Turpeinen there is a monument of white crane in fujian written that kanryo higaonna learnt from Xie chong siang ini 1900s. Morio higaonna also stated ini goju Ryu old document that his grandpa studied white crane to avenge his father death under Xie chongsiang

@@ahmadinejad606 Like I said, there is no credible evidence. Since the monument does is no older than a decade or two, it is not very believable. Even the Fuzhou Martial Arts Association has denied the claim.

"Karate meets White Crane"? An odd title because the origin of "Karate", which originally meant "Chinese Hand" and later changed to "Empty Hand", IS from Crane system.

these super masters should be brought to the ring with a UFS fighter. that's where we'd laugh...
@TheAnsonysc3 жыл бұрын
You brought them? Does it necessary for a grand master to fight with a small potato, will you challenge or accept the challenge? The basic rules of learning martial arts are 第一年俾人打(1st year, being beaten/bullied by others), 第二年行埋去俾人打(2nd year, step forward to your opponent either to challenge or being challenged and being beaten) So if these so called super masters lost in the ring, it is only because it might be able their first or second year of learning. Can every UFS fighter in the ring can win if both of the fighter are UFS fighter? What's the implication of the fight? That is to say, martial arts or kung fu is not the most important. It is mainly because of power, energy and power, etc. Seems you know nothing at all so you'd laugh..........
Most of Okinawa karate came from white crane kung fu. Shotokan in different. A more jujutsu/kenjutsu approach.

eastern martial arts are codified. that's why it may seem weird to outsiders.. in order to understand it, you need to delve deeper. unlike western martial arts that shows what their martial arts truly is. eastern people are secretive. But it is always up to the practitioner if he/she can weaponize its art or not. Salute to you Naka Tatsuya Sensei.

Legend has it that the 4 elders that gathered at Shaolin during the crackdown were arguing which style was superior, in the typical male machism dominance style. Ng Mui was casually strolling through the garden and laughed. One of them went up to her and asked why she was laughing, and she replied that they needed a bit of softness to support all that rigid movement. The elders didn't take too kindly to her remark and challenged her, and she soundly defeated them all!
