It's actually sooo cool that the thing is intelligent enough to run away and go to the surface only through tunnels (maybe it dig itself, maybe not, but still cool af). THAT'S a true infection with really interesting behaviour, It would be SOOO COOL to see it sneak in a very defended military base with a ton of player etc.

It did dig the tunnels, though it kinda just does that when forms that can both break blocks and climb get stuck in caves, it's not specifically a fleeing response (though that's a cool idea tbh)

According to the movie, “The Thing,” it cannot infect dead bodies. Something like a skeleton would count, so it does make sense if you think extremely hard about it.

there is a new kind of infection mod called "Cataclysmic Creepers" that makes Creepers infect the World. It would be interesting to see if creepers can beat something like the Spore Infection or the Wither Storm

Pretty sure the only infection mod that can beat the Fungal is SRP, and even then, Fungal could give them a hard time.....until the Adapted/Pure parasites start coming out to play. Then the Fungal Infection is screwed

Sculk Hoard beat Fungle Spore when it’s new update came out. Now that it’s not as restricted in the blocks it can convert it’s more powerful.

unfortunately rlcraft and scape and run are still on 1.12.2 whereas all the new infection mods are on newer versions

Impressive, yet I feel we might see more from the FAW mod as it gets update. I find it hard to believe that a being that assimilate life lose to shrooms this hard. Then again, who knows. What I am really curious about is, can the Gigeresque mod stand a better change against the fungus?

the aliens spread nowhere near as fast as sculk horde, fungal infection and the thing so I think they'd lose pretty badly

Imagine a mod that allows Sculk, Spore and Another World to merge their mobs together into a new breed entirely, and they can eventually become allies with each other against their common enemy: the Player that’d be neat, maybe someone will figure out how each mods code works and make mobs that include each infections code and what not

the devs already collab in a way, usually the mobs don't fight eachother, but in the config you can make them fight. so they are already teaming in a way

How did you manage to make them fight using the config? I'm trying to run Spore and From Another World at the same time. I looked pretty stupid when I spawned a Beast and a Sieger next to eachother hoping they'd fight, only for them to just stare at eachother@@KaratFengMinecraft

Since the thing is able to infect the sculk in the sculk horde mod maybe the dev for the thing wants to make it infect every other type of infection

So between the thing and the Spore I think thematically I prefer the thing. Something that hides in normal mobs and then bursts out when you least expect it, I think that is a little bit more terrifying but I also really like how the Spore changes the landscape. I think someone needs to create a Necromorph mod now and then we'll have the three big infection Medias, you have the cordyceps, you have the thing and then you'd have Necromorphs. Even though Necromorphs are inspired from the thing I think they're distinct enough to be their own mod. Then someone needs to create a flood mod that's detached from a Halo mod.

Surprised that spore making sieger like nothing, it produces 4 sieger in one fight😅 Things are strong, but has slow infections compared with fungal infections.

It's mainly because of the proto hive mind it increases spore growth the more hive minds the faster it grows so unless spore doesn't have a hive mind even sculk could take the spores down.

if you are in survival, it take time, if you are in creative, add a proto hivemind, it boost the infection
