Hello its been a couple of years so may not be relevant. I had exact same problem as you. Watched your first video, Ordered the part and the same result as you. However i noticed on the old head there was a small triangular bit with a spring that didny come with the replacement. I have no idea what it is for but i swapped it over and it worked. Thank you for your videos.

That little piece of plastic that you installed at 19:50, it is made for older models of karcher to be compatible with newer pump head like yours. So you dont need it, because your karcher is newer model. I made that mistake myself, now my karcher works perfectly!

Ah. That could be the reason for the low water pressure. Cheers mate 👍🏻🥃🥃

If you discharge the water from pump head before shutting it down you won’t get a cracked pump head in winter!!!

Thanks for uploading this video. This is the only video I found that demonstrated exactly what I wanted to do - which was remove the main cover of the K4 Full Control model. No other video can I find that shows what you do so massive thanks for that. I'm guessing it's a K4 Full Control because it looks identical to mine. There were two screws that I couldn't see stopping the case being removed but once they were unscrewed, the main casing came off easy. I wanted to try to do something with the on/off switch or the component that houses the power on/off switch -- because as soon as I power on at the mains supply my K4, the pump starts/runs, making a humming/buzzing sound. It works fine when you squeeze the trigger to spray water but as soon as you release the trigger, my K4 pump keeps running even though the water stops immediately. Without taking the pump out of the casing which is the only way to access the on/off power unit, I believe this is the fault. It seems a big job to do this just to access the power supply unit and I was hoping I could disassemble this to inspect it for a failure I could repair myself. Below is a link to the part I think I need to buy -- unless you or someone can tell me if this is repairable. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265380556280?epid=11053062648&hash=item3dc9e9edf8:g:Dz0AAOSwLAxheoym&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoD6sujnDl8fW8q5oDXmvzG%2BAbIRKSznad%2FeALMpspYPmFp5JTHzkPJmE5KWj2n5Pchej3OpRlAKoncT%2BqPZtSmX3tmh7FqGf3JqQbRRnTzRpcQlrfOsIfvfxgnHBk9Iq8YL9%2FNBbM98a1ypVAr%2BAcqFVqmfEv7yg3xetvEGSjnQ6gDtzDyAh5JD2JPpRXXUvQXvoQSIXIKRFb4NzG6aQpeI%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR6bj0snAYQ

If the pump is making a noise when you release the trigger then it’s not your switch it’s actually a crap part on the top of the pump which has likely cracked. Check out the part one in this link to see if it’s the same problem Karcher K4 leaking problem fix kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a5uDY8Zom62VqYE.html

@@randomtherapy Thanks for your reply. I watched the other video you made from the link you gave. Interesting to see what you did. However, the issue I have with my K4 is as soon as you supply mains power, regardless of whether the on/off switch is in the on or off position, the pump starts running and makes a loud humming sound. When I squeeze the trigger on the lance, it works perfectly as it should ... but as soon as you release the lance trigger, the pump keeps running. After watching the second part of your video, there is no internal leaking of water anywhere inside. So as you've shown in your video, I can rule out any leakage. I've either got a stuck valve stuck open inside the main unit or the on/off switch or something inside the sealed electrical unit has failed. I might consider doing what you did and that is to remove the main pump and unscrew the whole everything to see if something inside is stuck open or maybe I can check what's inside that power unit.

Hi At 15.29 you pull a brown plug and all the bits fall on floor,and you say your sure their was a spring in their. Was their a spring ? I'm in process of repairing exact same machine and same thing happened to me. I've put the machine back together and I'm left with a spring 😂😂,.

@Random Therapy ... I've got a question and a suggestion. When you're taking off the top section; whatever it's called ... the part you're removing to replace. You mention in your video there are Allen Bolts to undo (there's four of them), they're definitely Allen Bolts? NOT Torx Bolts? What size Allen key head did you use? The biggest Allen key I've got fits inside the bolt head but it has a slight wiggle so it's not a perfect fit. If I try to use the Allen key I've got, as those bolts are extremely tough to undo, chances are my Allen key will cam out and possibly round or damage the bolt head. Secondly, I have an idea to ask you. The short clear pipe (about 5 inches long) that connects from the top housing that goes to the black plastic holder that you push in a special fitment bottle such as foam or detergent ... what if this pipe was replaced with a pipe that was say 2ft long or even 1 meter long. If I then drilled a small hole in the side of my K4 and fed that extra length pipe through, if the pipe was left open ended, I could then just put the open end directly into a bottle of something into even my own bucket filled with something I've already mixed. I know inside that short pipe are a couple of tiny balls which are there to reduce the pressure when this is being used. Providing in torment careful not to lose them, I think my idea would work?
@randomtherapy

Point 1 definitely Allen key. Also replaced the bolts as they were a bit chewed by the time I’d finished. Point 2. Now that is thinking outside the box 📦 nothing to lose by trying. Let me know how you get on with that one. 👍🏻🥃🥃

I want to take out the white box that houses the electrics to see if I can open it up to check if this is the part that is at fault with my K4. Regardless of whether the on/off switch is in the On or Off position, as soon as I connect my K4 to mains power, the pump starts running. Carefully watching you take apart your K4, when you show the component that you say sits on top of the pump (which on mine has a short clear tube that connects to the part that allows you to push in a detergent bottle), did you remove the pipe that goes through into the back casing where the high pressure hose connects to BEFORE you made this video? I don't see you removing that and without removing that you cannot remove the main pump out of the rear casing. All I see you do is use a screwdriver to remove two clips. On my K4 there is only one clip. That holds in a black solid plastic pipe from the main pump into the part you had in your hand. I'm struggling to remove the large black holder that you wrap the high pressure hose around several times after you've finished using the washer. Without removing that, I cannot remove the main pump out of the black casing like you did.

@Maersky-747

@@randomtherapy Thanks. I found the solution by accident. The part that you wrap the high pressure hose around after you've finished using it, that turns slightly. It turns from its 12 o'clock position to a 10 past 12 position. It won't move further. When that part is turned, by lifting the main pump, it now becomes loose. I can now loosen the large nut and now it becomes free from that part and I can now lift out the entire pump from the casing just like you did in your video. Because the pump starts running regardless of whether the on/off switch is on or off, I'm convinced that white box housing the electrics has a fault with the switch or something inside ... so I'm going to attempt to open that up and see if there's anything I can fix myself. Thanks once again for your reply ... and without watching your video I would of probably given up trying to open the K4. 👍👍👍
