BM is from LA and pretty into dancing so you'll see him pull out a lot of the trending dances. Jiwoo is the girl with all the accessories. Somin is the girl in the water. Jseph is the man with the loose fitting shirts. I'd highly recommend reacting to more KARD as their songs are fantastic. I listen to them a lot when I'm taking long road trips!

i saw someones comment saying koreans hate coed groups which is not true. it's not like we don't like coed groups 😅 some of the coed groups in the past had some... issues so there's that image that may keep some people away but besides that KARD does a lot of tours outside korea and the company focuses more on the international audience so that's why there isn't much recognition in korea yet but if dsp just stepped it up that would be a different story😔

most co-ed groups fail because of disinterest from the general korean audience or because the whole co-ed group craze kinda ended in the early 2000s. there have been a lot of kpop co-ed groups in the past and debuting currently (probably) but have all disbanded either because of lack of popularity or scandals (scandals usually affected the older kpop groups). if you're interested in checking out other co-ed groups, I'd recommend Koyote, S#arp (pronounced Sharp), and Space A; Koyote (pronounced Ko Yo Teh, not coyote, lol) is actually the longest-lasting co-ed group; they were established in the late 90s and were extremely popular throughout the early 2000s. They're actually still around and still popular today. $harp is another co-ed group that was established in the late 90s but I think they disbanded due to a huge scandal during the early 2000s. Space A, i think, was also established in the late 90s and was somewhat popular during the early 2000s but they disbanded and they're happily living their own lives. Space A actually was a guest on a korean music show called Sugarman where old kpop singers would be invited to watch current kpop groups do covers of their songs.

I think a-side/b-side comes from old vinyl singles, doesn't it? Like, someone would release a single (a-side) but to not waste the other side of the vinyl disc they'd put another song (the b-side) and it stuck even when the b-sides started to outnumber the a-side.

Yeah Co-Ed doesn't work kpop wise typically because the kpop model is based around making fans believe they have a chance dating the idols. To amplify this, contact between boy groups and girl groups has lessened significantly. Co-ed groups feel like they could be dating each other and turn away the more delusional fans who are the backbone of kpop. There's also a little homophobia mixed in as the shipping culture of bgs or ggs dating within their group is common but not shipping/dating the opposite sex which leads me to believe delusional fans do not see same sex relationships as '''proper relationships'''' hence them not minding shipping but if there were to be a same sex relationship in their fav group they'd probably throw a fit) Co-ed groups work if they're aimed at the general public in korea over fandom eg older 90's groups like Roora, if its a duo and they're siblings eg AKMU or if they're popular internationally like Kard. I do feel like Co-ed groups could do better if more were released to normalize their existence but they're a huge financial risk for companies so I don't see it happening.
