I'm afraid that, at the end of the day, London LEOs have no real authority and no real powers to defend practically ANYTHING that goes on over there. The police are not there to prevent tourists from bothering the guards, they are there to prevent acts of terrorism, controlling the morons is just an added nuisance to them doing their job!

I am loathe to say this, but the usual guards are back and it shows! Not wishing to be mean but the mainly female temporary guards have not held the same bearing, in my humble opinion. I may be prejudiced as my late Grenadier father did not believe women had the strength to be in the Army, police force etc.!(!how times have changed.) 😅I am also a woman!

Truth be known, these policemen has many rules to follow. I don’t see them lazy at all. When dealing with the public you have to be very careful how you handle them.

What you do not realize is that the police officers are very much on top of everything. If you look again and pay attention to the officers you will see that they are not paying attention to each other, each one is facing a different direction and watching what is going on. If they need to take action they are in the perfect spot! They can get out the front or back, head to either side quickly and efficiently. They can also get help if required.

They are the elite police. What is needed is a ‘jobs worth’ or several, for crowd control during the busy season.

​@Patricia-om3vo in America., sometimes citizens can go on ride alongside with on duty officers..I was able to do that, and found it quite enlightening how hard and dangerous their jobs really are...after that, I appreciate all they sacrifice for the public...if it is a program available to you, I highly recommend you avail yourself of it..
