I’d like to share my Karen experience. I’m a McDonald’s employee so we get a whole HOST of characters coming in and out of the store. I live in Texas and as most of you know we were one of the first states to open all the way back up. What most people don’t realize is that store Discretion was in place so if you walk into our store without at mask at the time we have every right to kick you out if you refuse to put one on. So one day I’m chillin with my cousin (who worked there at the time) both of us on break. Then this lady wearing sweat pants a tank top and flip flops comes in. Unbeknownst to us she was a Karen. She told her children to go find a place to sit so our shift manager informs her that she can’t dine at a table but she’s more than welcome to grab a seat to wait for her food. She starts having a minor freak out going on about how the state of Texas is completely open and how if you don’t want people to dine in then have signs that say so. Then a man who was completely unaffiliated with her chimes in sharing that Sentiment. After telling the female and male Karen’s that there are signs plastered all throughout the store saying “takeout service only” she says this “give me a refund please. I don’t want my children eating at an establishment like this”. She and the man both walked out. That is my story
