Been keto for 6 years; I've given many presentations to individuals; very few people pick it up. The carb dependent mitochondria coupled with the dopamine-related sugar addiction and the preponderance of misinformation and trained beliefs makes this a good reason to teach the un-indoctrinated youth. Makes me feel like big tobacco

Hey Joe I do low carb, train, low carb, feel great then fall off the wagon on a family movie night - Get back on, go through withdrawal Rinse repeat - so most of the week/month I feel good, just need to find the willpower to stay on it

@@georgebarr5102 Hey George, it's actually an addiction. During my first years I experienced similar uncontrollable needs for carbs. I really noticed the difference when I switched to sugar-free ice cream, it didn't give me the same satisfaction. In the book Dopamine Nation, the author says that dopamine seeks a level balance, usually accomplished after 30 days of abstinence depending on the addictive substance or activity. Self-binding strategies are used to abstain; these are categorized into space, time and meaning. I recommend the book. Cold showers or cold plunges are a shortcut.

I'm on a lchf diet. I have lost weight but my cholesterol readings are high, according to a nurse, and I must address them. I did screening last month and they are 6.7. Can you advise please

If you research the real information about cholesterol you’re gonna find that your nurse is probably wrong…

When you say your cholesterol is high, what does this mean? Which cholesterol is high? Which is low? It is important to find these things out, then do your own research to understand what that means. Medical professionals are required to tell people certain things, regardless of these things being scientifically accurate.
