In this episode of Tarikh, Nikhil narrates the story of Captain Neikezhakuo Kengurüse, an Indian Army officer from Nagaland, exemplifying unwavering bravery and sacrifice during the Kargil War. As the Ghatak Platoon Commander, he volunteered for a daring mission to neutralise an enemy machine gun position at Area Black Rock in the Drass Sector. Scaling a treacherous cliff face under heavy fire, Kengurüse led his team with courage and determination.
Despite sustaining a splinter injury to his abdomen, he fearlessly pressed on, urging his men to continue the assault. When faced with a sheer rock wall separating them from the enemy, he removed his shoes for better grip and climbed while carrying a rocket launcher. Unyielding in the face of danger, Kengurüse fired at the enemy position and then engaged in hand-to-hand combat, personally eliminating four adversaries before succumbing to his injuries.
Captain Neikezhakuo Kengurüse's selfless act single-handedly neutralised the enemy stronghold, allowing the Battalion's progress to proceed unhindered. His extraordinary gallantry, indomitable resolve, and unwavering commitment to duty reflect the highest traditions of the Indian Army. Kengurüse's supreme sacrifice serves as a testament to his heroic spirit and remains an inspiration to all.

@@creativeaamI do not agree with you. Pakistan armed forces fight like cowards. In 1947, 1965, 1999 they intruded like civilians (local tribesmen). In 1971 they killed millions of Bengalis in East Pakistan like cowards. They killed Capt Saurabh Kalia and Sqn Ldr Ajay Ahuja after torturing them. Pakistani army didn't even take the bodies of their soldiers. How can you even compare them with the Indian armed forces? Pakistan Army is a coward force, facts are there. I am talking based on facts not assumptions

just to add properly Ghatak platoon is best 20-30 out of around 1000 men's from that regiment, Ghatak platoon also has few sections teams or 2-3. usually you will find the super fit soldiers mostly they are the same soldiers who are great in playing sports
