Not true. Clapton never said that. Clapton thinks Prince was absolutely amazing, paid him tribute, but he never said that quote. It reminds me of when Einstein was asked how it felt to be the smartest man alive & he answered "I don't know, ask Tesla.".

Yes he was often underrated as a guitarist but he was an amazing guitarist. I think that tribute to George Harrison when he played ‘ my guitar gently weeps’ woke a lot of people up to how skilled he was . The way he makes his guitar sing in that concert was so beautiful and really was a tribute to George and the guitar, the other performers just step back and can’t even come close to how prince was playing and the look on George Harrison’s sons face you can see he knows that prince is paying tribute to his father and he respects his skill.

@@books-and-cats yes i agree. The other performers couldn’t compete and did seem pissed about it… but Dhani looked so happy and like he knew his father would have loved how prince made his guitar weep in tribute to George and that prince’s performance was for his father who was an amazing guitarist himself and understood it’s not about ego it’s about the music itself.

Years ago, I was at the Blue Note lounge to see Amel Larrieux perform, and Prince was inside (although nobody knew). After the show, I was standing near the entrance and Prince runs out, accidentally bumping into me. He held my arms and sweetly apologized then told me to have a good night in that deep voice of his. Now, being a native NY'er I rarely get star stuck but baybaaay, after that I was done for the night. 🤩💜✨️ It was a quick moment, but one I'll never forget. 😂 Rest in peace and power, Prince! 🕊✨️ There will *_never_* be another!

Sat next to Prince in the NYC subway in the 90s. Was a huge fan. Ran into the car and sat in the only seat. My portfolio banged into his leg. When I turned to apologize, I saw him. I was so stunned, I shut down. Wanted to tell him how much he and his music meant to me. Couldn't speak. Soon after, my stop came, and I got off the subway. Nobody believed me. Next day in "Page Six" it said he was in NYC visiting his new girlfriend, Talisa Soto (she later married Benjamin Bratt). Even though I wish I had spoken to him, I'm glad I didn't. Some things in life are meant to be that way.

Was a Prince fan long before he was famous. Nobody before or since has affected me that way. Saw him 4 times in concert (1 was a V.I.P. only charity). He was the ultimate entertainer. So much so, that his brilliant musicianship (guitar playing, in particular) was overlooked. He's up there with Jimi Hendrix. Know people in Minneapolis who knew him long ago. He wasn't gay. He loved women. All women. That said, he was a womanizer, a control freak. Yet, he was a humanitarian (donated millions anonymously to struggling causes). Championed women musicians (Wendy and Lisa, both gay and involved with each other) were part of The Revolution. A walking contradiction. Imo, he was murdered. No will. His catalogue belonged to "the suits." He knew too much and was talking. May he R.I.P. 💜💜💜

In 2023 I'm still recording songs, and will continue to do so as long as God allows me to live. Thank you for making the album that inspired me to become a rock musician. @@susanrike7476 I believe the Hollywood music industry (Illuminate) was behind his death as they felt threatened by him and his truth and Prince calling them out. If an artist calls them out their life is in danger. Prince was not afraid of them and they knew it, but to shut up the controversy they killed him. Reminds me so much about Chris Cornell the lead singer of Soundgarden and Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. Chris was cremated soon after his death. Chris also spoke his truth about serious subjects such as child sex trafficking. There was talk that Chris and Chester (they were best friends) somehow came across a black book that had all the names of people (elitests) who participated in child sex trafficking such as politicians, actors/actresses, music industry leaders, millionaires, and anyone of high ranking influence. I believe Chris' wife was involved in his death as well and also Chris' bodyguard, Martin Kurstin. I believe the music industry was threatened by them and decided to murder them as they knew they were worth more dead than alive.

@@Prometheuspredator I agree on how music industry is. I also feel that Prince is so spiritual and wise, and he’s an old soul that he outsmarted them and faked his death. Of course this is just my theory but if you really study him, the whole thing about him is untouchable. He reveals so much in his lyrics, too, but I feel most people just bypass it. Something about him tells me that he is beyond this corrupt industry and he is somewhere in this world/ universe dedicating to practice his spirituality which also means music.

@@LennonAbe I hope he faked his death and is living an amazing life, but the Illuminate is alive and well and living in Hollywood. Loved, loved, loved Prince! There is a video of me dancing to the Batman song by Prince at my 3rd birthday. At 13 yo my aunt and cousin took me to see him live. I was one of the youngest people in the crowd. When he died I went into a depression for a month. Like I lost a loved one. Crying at everything mentioning him. One day after watching his performances on youtube, I took a nap and dreamed of him; I was in the clouds, standing in a circle with a bunch of people. Everyones face was blurred. It was like were holding hands. Then in the middle of the circle Prince appeared. He thanked us all for loving him so much and said it was okay to let go. It was really beautiful and you could feel so much love among us. Still brings tears to my eyes as I write this. 💜💜💜 RiP. Forever & always. Prince.

Respectfully Prince was far beyond those european composers, Mozart may be the sole talent near his level. The rest did not play multiple instruments with the unmatched mastery Prince had nor did they compose as many songs in their lifetimes. The only artists on level with Prince are *Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Patrice Rushen, Donny Hathaway, Curtis Mayfield, Quincy Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Sly Stone, Ray Charles* and maybe a few others.

@@CodyCole80 I agree with you somewhat. James Brown & and Donny Hathaway may have been masters at composition on mainly one instrument and their vocals. Quincy is on another level with production but it must be noted he shaped much his songs the off the compostions of James Ingram, Micheal Henderson, George & Louis Johnson and the incredible Rod Temperton. Curtis, *Stevie* , Patrice, Sly, Jimi, *Ray* (the grandmaster) are in another dimension like Prince himself and in my opinion really cannot be compared to each other.

I miss Prince, he was the ultimate when it came to creativity....a music genius in my opinion. To ask which was my favorite song is difficult to answer. However "I would die for you" would be my favorite because Prince had a strong sense of spirituality. I'm not claiming he was perfect but it seems he understood that God is love and the creator of all things. I've heard the song "I would die for you" was about Jesus. The lyrics seems to suggest this. I hate that people bring up lies after someone has died! First off, Boy George is a bald faced liar! IF Prince had affairs with men it wouldn’t have been with Boy George with his ugly, bizarre physical looks. Prince was always polished and immaculate so Boy George probably was attracted to Prince but if you believe he actually slept with him you’re a fool. Mayte was a vicious liar and con woman! She was practically pimped out by her parents to get with Prince and he fell for it. He tried having the marriage annulled and put out a permanent restraining order against her once he found out who she really was. Many women have spoken about Prince and how he treated them and they all say, minus Mayte and the other one you profiled, that he was kind, generous, controlling at times ( but not to the extent Mayte claimed!) because he was a perfectionist. There’s a reason Prince didn’t leave her anything after they divorced and she stole things from him to sell. She was a gold digger and liar. Prince’s true love will always be Denise. ❤ Rest in Power Purple Prince.💜

I always found it odd that he died the same day Chyna did. I felt like there was.some occult symbology at play. Karine, if you ever get a chance look at the lives of female wrestlers like Chyna who was the first woman to enter into the royal rumble and win the IC title at a time when women in the wrestling industry were looked at as objects and novelty acts. The outcimes of wrestling matches may be predetermined and pro wrestling itself is basically stage combat and stunt work, but when you look behind the facade it's fascinating.
