Thank you for all the knowledge you provide Karl. You've taught me more about product photography than my college tutors have in 2 years 😂 I played around with light (softboxes and diffused Tungsten) to show the aftermath of drinking Starbucks coffee in a plastic cup a few weeks ago; it's fair to say they didn't have any bad comments and were pretty impressed.

I am very conscientious about spending money and the value I can get out of it. In professional photography education, conceptualization, problem solving, marketing, why you should and why you shouldn't, retouching, customer service, pricing, and the constant creation of courses, there is absolutely nothing like KTE. My experience on the platform and with the team work is simply exceptional. Incredible value for $19 USDs/month, ridiculously cheap.

Yes back in the day I used to shoot on a Sinar 5x4 inch large format camera, now for digital you can put say a Hasselblad digital back on the reduced size large format digital cameras and use all the tilt, shift movements etc. The Linhof is a good example.

Amazing tutorial. Sorry I found this a little late. My question is, yes this is all beautiful on the screen but have you printed the shot or similar shots to see if the colors come out 100% correct as it is seen on the product in your hand? I do art reproduction from time to time & I found that the exposure is very challenging when the requirement is almost 100% color match.
@VisualEducationStudio
@VisualEducationStudio 5 ай бұрын
Hi, the important thing is to have a properly calibrated monitor like an Eizo colour edge and shoot tethered and then also use a professional lab with proper profiling. That way what you see on screen is very close to what you get on a professional print.

We are an education business and although we put out a good deal of information for free on KZfaq it is restricted (by us) our very best education is for our paying members on our platform. We offer them a personal level of support and service that just wouldn't make sense economically to provide on KZfaq as well, we don't do KZfaq as a form of advertising revenue we do it to promote our education platform. We make no bones or hide anything about what we try to do here on youtube and why as you can see in this video - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mdZkhdWEvreWe5s.html so although a simple answer might have been nice for you and Mai and everyone else reading here it wouldn't necessarily work out to be nice for us. I hope that makes sense to you.

Dear Sir, I would like to kindly ask you to clarify for me one thing considering the amount of light reflected by the background surface in the final image of those shown in the video. At the beginning you set the power of light illuminating the background to a given value. Then for the next picture you turned down the power of this light by one stop. After that you turned up the power of the light by half of the stop, and you added the key light. The last step was to change the camera angle and to increase the power of the background light again by half of the stop to achieve pure white background in camera. If I understand correctly, in terms of the illumination of the background you ended up where you begin. I guess it means that the amount of light wrapping around the subject on the first test shot is really the same as on the last photo. This means that the flare you talked about at the beginning is still there on the last image but you made it invisible by adding the key light. Is that correct? Does it mean that achieving the pure white background in camera in such scenario always requires allowing a little bit of controlled flare? I hope I'm not splitting hairs and I'm looking forward to your answer. Best regards, Mark

I started with nothing and worked 3 jobs to save enough for my first cameras and lenses. When I decided to start my photography business I took a loan from the bank for my equipment and about 4 lights. If you have the ability and passion then at some point you have to decide to go for it. If you don't then you can't complain about not having the right stuff and maybe it would be better to get someone to shoot it for you. Many business people that succeed started with nothing but made it work.
