This is a wonderful tribute to composer Kieth Emerson. How wonderful this is it shows how he thought out his work to transcend the boundaries of Rock music.He was a composer first and foremost. Thank you for this post.

REAL ART at last! I had an advanced college prep teacher dismiss ELP as "mere entertainment" in 1978. But we still need the flying piano.

My college orchestration prof in 1978 played sections of ELP's version of Pictures at an Exhibition in the classroom and set about to say that it failed. A loud "whoop" reaction from another person in class on hearing proved him wrong. The prof gave me an A on my analysis of "Limoges" from the piece, which was not covered by ELP. I still think ELP did a much greater service to music than that prof.

Pena que eventos como o seu concerto recebam pouca ou nenhuma divulgação. Se fosse samba, pagode ou algum desafinado da mpb, sairia em todos os jornais. Espero que você consiga, algum dia, a sonhada execução com orquestra completa, ou quem sabe até um trio teclado-baixo-bateria e orquestra.

Translates very well to an orchestral setting. I guess Emerson's compositions and arrangements always were heavily influenced by the great composers of orchestral music.
