En este contexto significan lo mismo. Tratar es más utilizado porque tiene distintos significados: *Como negociación: Hay que tratarlo en una junta. *Manejo de un objeto o personas: Trata esa pieza con cuidado porque es frágil. *Relacionarse con personas: a él le gusta tratar los asuntos importantes con su jefe. *Discutirlo en un escrito: debemos tratar el asunto por medio de una denuncia. *Dar un título a una persona: trató a la joven como una princesa. *Para hacer juicios sobre una persona: lo trató de loco. *Como contenido: la película trata de monstruos. *Para hablar de un objetivo (como hiciste tú). Ejemplos: Yo trato de despertar temprano, no estoy tratando de ocultar información, etc. Mientras que intentar solo tiene un significado y está relacionado con cumplir algún deseo, meta y objetivo. Pd: tratar, intentar, procurar o pretender, son hasta cierto punto sinónimos.

Un ejemplo más usando todo lo anterior para que quede un poco más claro o al menos veas cómo se utiliza jaja "Trato de explicarle el significado de la palabra, por medio de un trato amable y respetuoso, pues me resulta grato tratar con personas interesantes. No pretendo tratarlo como tonto, pero entiendo que el lenguaje es complicado. Si gusta, podemos tratarlo a profundidad en un correo que trate de esta u otra duda que tenga, ¿trato hecho?"
