You can see the driver discovers a better line through the turn at 2:30 to 2:35 that sets him up better for the next right hander, but P1 parks it on the apex which makes this driver have to veer to the outside. He tries his new line again on the next lap and gets a good exit out of the right hander, but the other driver gets the inside and holds his speed through the turn. Awesome racing.

Man, these things look like so much fun! That guy up front was very smooth and chose good lines. Made it hard to pass him.
@DrewRallye3 жыл бұрын
They look amazing. I'll build one one day! To be honest, I have to disagree. I think this guy with the camera was smoother, and a better driver. However the guy in lead was playing a massively defensive game making it very hard to pass him, like you say. I bet if he had made it past, he would have made a slow but steady lead. I may of course be wrong.

Theres a guy building one on KZfaq (his second or third, so he's worked most of the bugs out), and when he's finished, he'll be selling plans, including all of the notching templates, so that if you don't have access to a tube notcher, you can do it with an angle grinder. And there will be two sets of plans, one for 35mm tube and one for 1 1/2" (38mm)

the guy behind is definitely faster while the guy in front is often going too sideway and losing momentum. But the guy in front also has a lot of good defensive moves too, hence why the guy behind could not pass.

That looks brilliant motorsport. Driving a rally car nowadays is just so expensive. I was gripping the kitchen table and leaning in on the corners, trying to go for the inside line.

You fought for it, a shame the mud patch on the camera the last seconds. He make some fails, some of them repeatedly like at the last turn when he lifts the inner front wheel, which at the 3rd or 4th lap you try to pass inwards just the time he fails less than previouses. He do fails in corners, and you fought for it. But he's fast and recovers time with more traction in other sections. No surprise if his ride has some 3 5 hp more than you, or he's a child and you weight some 40 kg more than him... Good race tho!

The driver in the number 102 kart isn't that good of a driver. his line is all over the place and he runs so far inside the corners that he gets on bank and upsets the kart. there was a few occasions where he got out of control but pulled off a lucky save. the problem is the footage ended before we could find out the outcome.

118 was way faster and had smoother transitions and lines....102 was fast and hard to pass because he barely had control of his car...118 had a clean pass but 102 came across and went wheel to wheel with him....dangerous, and not in control...
@DoesNotGiveAF3 жыл бұрын
102 chose terrible lines a lot, he likes to hug the inside and push wide which causes him to never string corners together, 118 was definitely the better driver but 102's kart had some really good out of the hole acceleration, i think that's what kept him in front aside from the danger of getting next to him..
