On October 27, 1947, the Indian Army's 1st Battalion of the Sikh Regiment, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Dewan Ranjit Rai, was airdropped at Srinagar Airport to repel the tribal invaders supported by the Pakistani Army. Their swift action and bravery in defending Srinagar played a crucial role in thwarting the invasion and protecting the region.
The accession of Kashmir is a pivotal event in Indian history that transpired in 1947. As British India gained independence and was subsequently partitioned into India and Pakistan, princely states like Jammu and Kashmir had the choice to join either nation. Maharaja Hari Singh, the ruler of Jammu and Kashmir, faced a challenging decision.
The Maharaja, a Hindu, ruled over a predominantly Muslim state, which added complexity to his choice. Fearing communal violence and tribal invasion from Pakistan, he decided to accede to India. This decision was formalised in a letter of accession signed on October 26, 1947, and Indian troops were flown into Srinagar to defend the state.
The accession triggered a series of conflicts, including the first India-Pakistan war over Kashmir in 1947-48. The issue has since remained a point of contention and has led to several wars and ongoing disputes between India and Pakistan.

Very well tried to potray how kashmiri muslims were watanparast and with india😂..while the truth lies in fact how kashmiri muslim soldiers of hari singh only revolted against him and joined pakistan's invading forces..they killed hindu counterparts and took over posts and ammunition..as for the kashmiri boy u told about,he knew what kabilawalas had done all over the places and for the safety of his own village,women and family he took them away ..abdullah on the other hand wanted to rule kashmir,soo if pakistanis would have taken over then how could he have had ruled it?? U didnt mention the rebels of hari singhs army very smartly and tried to project a very clean image which is for my fellow indians who are very naive of facts and figures.. Kashmiri muslims and infact muslims in every place tried their best to either get with pakistan or if the conditions are not ok then hide here and there..
