I remember being a fan from her first Idol audition. Couldn't believe she didn't WIN. But the proof is in the career since then. Love Katherine! My forever favorite is still her rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."

Katharine did a beautiful young lady who sings like an angel. I have no ideas why the judges didn't like her version of Whitney Houston's sing. Perhaps because they didn't know it was David Foster who had actually suggested the changes!

I really like Katharine, big fan, but Leona Lewis did this for the X-Factor, blows this performance out of the water. Hopefully she will make a comeback because her voice was a true gift. You should all check it out.

she made the song hers. she can't sing like Whitney, no one can, so she sang it her way. the beginning sounded a little off though, like her voiced cracked. but she did the best she could with a very difficult song

I think all her Idol performances were awesome, and I think she was harshly judged too many times...it may have strengthened her. She should have won that year! She has been winning every year since!

No, I don't think it was out of her league, I think she did an spectacular performance and also gave me goosebumps. I think Simon, Paula and company were extremely cruel to misprize and scorn Miss McPhee.
