Kathie Lee Gifford sits down with her TODAY colleagues to talk about her decision to step away from TODAY in April 2019 to focus on other creative projects. “I feel so relieved. I’ve known it was coming for a long, long time,” she shares. “You want to get your story out before somebody else tries to tell your story in an inaccurate way.”

I'm still sad Kathie Lee is leaving the Today Show!I have been watching her since she was with Regis and Kathie Lee,her marriage,her pregnancies,I wish her all the blessings and I know whatever she does moving forward it will be great!she is a godly woman and has so much more to share and give..Thank you Kathie Lee for bringing us so much joy,laughter and love ..man if she wrote a book about her life it would just be a read I wouldn't put down..I hope she will come back tho!#OneDay 🙏❤️

I have come to appreciate her over the years at NBC because when she was on that talk show with Regis, I felt she was too self involved, talking about herself, Frank and her children nonstop!

God I’m going to miss her so much. Lightening strikes twice! The beautiful friendship with Kathie Lee and Regis...I thought no way that will ever be matched but she found that with sweet Hoda. A God fearing woman who never was afraid to speak about her faith and it was amazing to see that on television. Most people won’t and I love how she never tried to be anyone else but herself. She has never changed. I absolutely adore her. Wishing you nothing but love and light for her in the future! ❤️🙏

The first time I saw her was on Name That Tune with Game Show Host Tom Kennedy. At that time she sported a Dorothy Hamill haircut which was popular at the time. When I saw her with Regis, I was so glad she stayed with television. The Today Show with Hoda was icing on the cake, and I enjoyed their comedic moments very much. I wish Kathie Lee continued success with her future endeavors

I first saw KLG when my mom let me be late to first class in high school one morning to watch one of Duran Duran's first TV interviews in the states while they were here in tour. (Yes, I was an obsessed Duranie!). I believe the year was 1984 and for whatever reason, she just made an impression on me. She's grown even more gracious over the years without that ever seeming phony or fake. I've always really liked her. Sad she's leaving but love her outlook on life and how she will be making the best of hers.

I adore Kathy Gifford. I’ll be honest, I take time out of my busy senior life to watch the Today show only because of her professionalism and character. @@matthewj5555 sometimes it's the network's idea for her to leave, but make it sound like it was her idea so they don't look bad. I believe they paid her off. I also believe they wanted to see if Katie Lee said or do something wrong & then fire her like they did with Matt & Megan. Katie Lee is to smart to do something like that. She love her job & the people who worked there so l don't believe she thought of that herself🤔

@@dianerandazzo1766 Katie Lee said the staff is like her own family. Now, I can understand if her husband Frank was still alive & she wanted to spend more time with him before he past away. That I would believe. Plus, her kids are grown so she's going to an empty house. Most people who look forward to retirement usually don't enjoy there job anymore or sick of it altogether. But, those would love there jobs want to do until they physically can or until they die. Kathie Lee seems to be in great health so NBC should try to talk her into staying, cause that's where her heart & family are.😒

Kathie Lee and Hoda kept the Today show alive when NBC pushed out Ann Curry & stayed with Lauer. NBC and the producers of the Today show owe a tremendous debt to Kathie and Hoda and America owes a giant thanks as well. Thanks, ladies!
