I have been driving trucks for nearly 26 years now and put almost 3 million miles behind the steering wheel. Diabetes is taking it all from me and the best part is i have a wonderful wife that has stood beside me the whole time. She is truly a proverbs 31: 10 woman. I will be hanging it up this weekend stepping out this truck this weekend for the last time and spending the rest of my life with my beautiful wife. God has been so good to me

As a CDL holder for 48 years now i have been everything from a company driver, owner operator, and small fleet owner so i really appreciate your years of dedication to a profession that doesnt often get much thanks. Your dad was the heartbeat of America. He will always be with you. I know that it is hard, we lost our mom buck in Febuary, she passed away in a car accident. I would be lying if I told you that it got any easier, it doesn't. Just keep living, and remember your dad. Sounds like he was a good hardworking man.

Talked with a guy at a truckstop who was on his last run over the road for 51 years. Had on a new pair of boots, and I seen him climb up in the cab, gave me a wave, and bumped the horn for me. He talked about how excited he was to get back to his wife and move out of the rig. He said he was going to give his rig to his youngest son who wants his own rig for his 28th birthday. Just an all around great guy.

As a driver I appreciate your support. It is a very unappreciated lifestyle. We leave our family, our home, and daily lives to stock the shelves. Unfortunately we are still looked at as being big slow and in the way of going nowhere fast. If only people knew just what it takes to be a driver, they might give us a little more room. But the unfortunate truth is as long as the shelves are full we are nothing more than a inconvenience

I was a cashier, trucker came through my line with his wife. He was a little bent over from back pains, asking where pain reliever was. He said he and his wife been on the road. I told him Thank you. He said for what? I said for making sure deliveries were on time. The poor guy about choked. Then said Nobody ever said that to me before. Thank you. He bought his stuff and him and his wife were back on the road. I didn't mean to make him cry. I just wanted him to know I appreciated him for the job he does for us. I lost one of my best friends on March 16th, 2024. She was a driver, as am I. We've both been in it long enough to be classified as ol' school drivers. We still use an Atlas, we did paper logs, and we ran manual trucks. We met only a few years ago, but our experience and experiences bonded us quickly. We talked for hours some days as we did our miles. This song was played at her memorial service, and I was so emotional. I miss her dearly!! RIP Trix... you were one of the best, and you are thought of often 💕❤️💕

Just hung up my keys, came in from the road, and retired after 32+ years behind the wheel of a big rig last week. This song used to make me cry because I never thought the gentleman in this video would be me, and now it is. This is my official retirement song. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to get reacquainted with the gal I married almost 45 years ago. If you do the math, it's easy to see that over the years, we've spent more time apart than together. I now intend to correct that.

This song reminds me about my wife. It was her favorite song before she lost the battling to cancer, I wish I could change the hands of time, I miss her smiles, she was always there for me and our lovely daughter, and I never miss a moment with her, life could be so unfair most times, there is some pain, I will cry in vain but won’t let you know how I will feel yes, I will miss you to the core! but some times i wonder why bad thing always happen to good people. She’s always in our hearts…

Im lucky to live near Wisconsin Dells, which has the Crystal Grand Theater, as well as a local casino that gets country artists in quite a bit. I've gotten to see Neal McCoy, Clint Black, Gary Allan, Charley Pride, Scotty McCreery, LeAnn Rimes(before she went pop), Sawyer Brown, Diamond Rio, Ronnie Milsap, and a host of others. Thankfully, we have a lot of fairs too to go to. Im working my way through the list. Unfortunately some of them are dying off before I could see them, like Don Williams. It's why I'm trying to get to more older artists when they're in the area.

This brings back memories of my grandpa, who drove for 40 years. Gone are the days when two people got married and the woman stayed faithful and took care of the house and kids, no matter how long the man was away doing whatever it took to put food on the table, and was waiting on the front porch when her husband pulled in. You never see that with today's women. But when my grandpa died, he and my grandma had been happily married for 62 years. Sad that those days are gone....

my dad always talked of his shipboard days in WWII and the trip to Japan that was cancelled with the end of the war. The other talk was that of family and his trucking. That Jimmy V6 screaming, the boss giving him one dollar for fuel for a load and he soundly rejected, the time a rock set the air valve open and he ran a load of tomatoes out of the ozarks without brakes, hugging the tight curves and finally making the straightaway to see family. Then out for another turn.......................god bless him and all hard working Americans................

Many of us in the beginning didn't see our families or go home for months. Showers were far between, laundry on the road had to be washed in shower rooms and hung to dry in the rig, little to no hot meals, etc. When ppl opened their eyes and realized how bad we all were suffering, ppl started to open their homes, farm lands, go throw drive thru or even cook us a hot meal. It took a crisis for ppl to realize how important we are but now that the crisis is down we become Nothing again. Yes we choose the life of a trucker, but just as everyone else we didn't know what was to come. There where days some of us drove 20hrs to get emergency medical loads across the country. The Federal government gave exemptions to the drivers hauling these loads. I didnt see my family for almost 4 months, and ran multiple exempt loads. I only ask for a little more respect on the roads. I think that's all most drivers want.

I hear Kathy every now and then on "Mountain Stage" on the radio out of West Virginia. She still has her cool. My uncle wasn't an over the road driver. He owned his own dump truck and contracted to services in northern Georgia. I was born and live in Indiana, but whenever I went to Georgia, Uncle Bobby took me riding on a job. I miss him so much.
