🙌👏👋✌️more Stevie Ray🎶🎸. These two put on a Master class in down and dirty blues💙💯. Yes there is a basic structure to each song but within that there is the in the moment playing that varies each time it is played with this caliber of musicianship. That is the reason listeners will request a certain song from Stevie and specify which venue/year it came from. Each time he plays the same song it has a different take. That "finger thing" is called a trill fyi. ✌️ You have found the magical mystery tour of rabbit holes to fall into with Stevie Ray. May I suggest one of his own creations called Riveria Paradise from Austin City Limits 1989. Stevie created this after his own rehab and recovery and dedicates it to all those still out there suffering in any way. Music that conveys and departs a healing balm for your soul💙🎸🎶

Stevie Ray always paid homage to the blues legends that influenced him, like Johnny Copeland, B.B. King, Albert Collins, Lonnie Mack etc., and Johnny Copeland's song Texas Twister heavily influenced Stevie Ray's song Scuttlebuttin'. 🔥✌️

One of the things I can say about Stevie is he loves and respects the artists that come before him and if anyway he can bring them to the attention to his fans he will . Johnny was one of several artists that inspired Stevie .

The respect SRV had for the Blues Legends was very real. No matter how big Stevie got he gave credit to those blues heroes. He learned from them. I miss Stevie so much. His kind of humility is rare today.

Great performance and reaction!. Johnny was actually supposed to sing another part in this song, but he forgot the words. Just like a true musician, he just did a longer guitar solo to fill the time. You can actually see Stevie kind of grin and point his finger at him in a playful gesture. Reese/keyboards and Chris/drums were both grinning when this happened also. I have watched Johnny's version of Tin Pan Alley, and the words were a bit different. Maybe that's what mixed him up.

Stevie Ray Vaughan listen to alot of blues after he heard a Muddy Watters record very young and when he started performing he would have Blues artists who were great but not really known as his guest than people wanted to know who they were. This performance is at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland in 1985. Johnny Copeland"s career started in the 1950's to 1997 as a Texas Blues Guitar and singing blues man but he was mostly known for his singing and not his guitar playing, the first record he recorded was in 1956 called Rock And Roll Lily and he was a popular touring act for 20 years. In 1981 he won a W.C.Handy National Blues Award, in 1987 he won a Grammy for Best Traditional Blues Album for his album called Showdown. In his later years he was sick from congenital heart failure, he had a heart transplant and 6 months later he died on July 3, 1997. Stevie Ray had alot of hats but the one he's wearing has a flexi fox tail on it and he has a beard and mustache for a movie he was in, he played a guitarist at a rough dive bar and he said he wanted to look the part. Another great reaction, so glad I found your channel, Look At Little Sister and Little Wing is a must see videos, I think you will really enjoy them Stevie Ray is amazing in all his videos but those 2 are awesome.

Stevie Ray Vaughan always said his biggest influence was his brother Jimmie Vaughan, he always looked up to his older brother Jimmie. I was watching a late show The Arcieo Hall show ( I'm sure I spelled that wrong) and he said Jimmie was his biggest influence and the great Blues artists after that Albert King, B.B.King, Buddy Guy, Muddy Watters, Actually Albert King was Stevie Ray's godfather. They did a show together called In Session and the love and respect they had for each other was amazing, they also talk about how they met and really funny stories. Little Wing video is from the same Texas Flood you watch and Look At Little Sister is from his Austin show, that show was done 10 months before his death.

Ya know, there’s a definition of “the blues”. And music “improvisation” also has a meaning. “Free styling” might be related but has different connotations. Although, some people might think they know what you meant. “Blues” and jazz typically contain improvisation. And, because rock and country music is derived largely from blues progressions and concepts, It’s a important form to understand and to digest.
