Former TODAY anchor Katie Couric, now global anchor for Yahoo News, returns to Studio 1A to look back at the late Nancy Reagan’s many appearances on TODAY. “People thought of her as icy and overly protective of her husband,” Couric says, but the Nancy Reagan she knew was “like a girlfriend” who loved to dish and was concerned about the lack of civility in Washington.

I become big fan of everything 🇺🇸 FROM WATCHING the today show. I learned English through watching this show. I was living in Rabat morocco and I remember in 1993-1997 being so impressed by this tv show and I even picked my first hormail address as nbcboy. Because i was so so in love with this show and this network it was like my dream to visit US. Till it happened and I immigrated to US in 1998 and I went to a tour inside NBC and I still have a t-shirt with today show logo till today. It was a big ear for me and still

The Tip O'Niell story was very moving. We've lost that kind of civility between the two parties today.

Mrs. Reagan wasn't overly familiar or touchy-feely. Some call it ICY...I call it class.

Don't be so sure...Nancy Reagan had been a movie actress...she can hide her icy exterior when it benefits her.

@@pippipster6767 Everyone is different in private I'm sure you're aware of that. I loved Nancy Reagan I thought she was wonderful, but we all knew she was a very demanding Woman. That's what I liked about her. I suggest you read some books and try and get a total view of who she really was.

Cruel people can appear very nice even to their friends. I always had a bad feeling about Nancy even when I was a child and my parents were Reagan supporters. She just looks mean and then she wrote that narcissistic book called "My Turn". Her own daughter told the real story about her personality at home and Barbara Bush couldn't stand her.
