I delivered a baby in one of my college classes. We had a pregnant student that went into labor and the teacher was going to help, but she passed out. Having grown up on a ranch, I had delivered several calves so I wound up delivering the baby before EMTs arrived.

Years ago I was a volunteer EMT on a rural ambulance. We were called to a woman in labor. It was too late to transport her to the hospital so I delivered the baby there at the house. It was a great experience.

I can relate to the passing out. The morning after my first child was born the nurse tried to get me up and walking. I took 2 steps everything went dark, and I hit the floor. Fast forward 19 months, to the birth of my twins. The nurse taking care of me walked in with a student nurse, they introduced themselves and the senior nurse started explaining what they needed to do to her student. As they were about to leave the room the older nurse said, "One more thing, no matter what, do NOT stand her up for the first 48 hours!" My husband and I both burst out laughing, we had felt like we recognized her but couldn't think from where, until she said that.

Had my wisdom teeth out many years ago. General anesthesia. Came around in an absolute panic not knowing who I was. Literally the strangest experience ever. For 5 minutes I didn't know who I was. The strangest part is, nobody told me. I would've thought somebody would say, "You're ( First & Last Name)." So strange. In high-school, I was in marching band, and the flute player in front of me was prone to pass out in the heat of summer. Marching down the main drag in Duluth, MN, and all of a sudden she starts to sway, and..........................there she goes. Over a couple of years I caught her midi-air maybe 10 times. The traumas of marching band.

You girls are such wonderful, animated storytellers. I was laughing so hard🤣. I, too, cannot have the gas at the dentist. I about ripped it off my face because it was having a reverse effect on me and caused me more anxiety. The dentist said he could tell I don’t use any drugs or alcohol because it was on the lowest setting 🤣 and that people who abuse substances keep wanting it turned up or it doesn’t affect them much. I love how you girls are so genuine and honest and make every day things in life so much more meaningful. You are both precious and a beautiful breath of fresh air. 😊

When I was around 25, I had gone for a appendectomy. About 5 days later I was rushed to the hospital & was near death. I needed 3-4 blood transfusions. I had hemolytic anemia…basically your red blood cells explode, normal hemoglobin level is around 10, I was at a 2. This was all from an antibiotic that now, I know I am highly allergic to. I had another near death experience when I was around 37, I was on life support with a 10% chance of survival. I am extremely blessed. Your family is amazing! Have a wonderful day! ❤️

You had me in giggles and smiles until I teared all up, not because of your experiences so much but because I could totally imagine what Tipper and Matt were going through, not knowing if their children were going to make it! I 've been there and it is the absolute worst fear a human can have. Thanking God each of you came out just fine.

I trained in pathology, during my training I passed out in the autopsy suite! They called a code blue. I woke up and the cardiac team was hovering over me. I was fine. I still can’t explain it until this day.😊🇨🇦

Oh, the wisdom teeth story was so traumatic! I feel so bad for your classmate, I bet he was beyond embarrassed but he couldn't help it. Glad the lady Corie helped was ok. What a scary experience. I have a funny short story. When my mom woke up from surgery she told the surgeon that she really liked his meatball lollypops!

I enjoyed this video so much. You really livened up my day! When I had my wisdom teeth out and woke up in the little recovery room, for some reason I wanted my purse. I somehow thought it was still in the waiting room under the chair I had been sitting in, so I wandered around and found my way back out there. Of course my mouth was full of gauze and I had bloody drool oozing out of my mouth as I looked behind the waiting patient's legs and under their chairs, all the while muttering indistinguishably, "I want my purse." Meanwhile. the nurse stepped back into recovery room, and finding it empty, had a panic attack. She and the doctor rushed around, even checking out the back door, until they found me and led me back to lie down again. I can't even imagine the look of horror on those poor waiting patients, or how many got up and left.

Sorry girls, but you had me cracking up on the dentist story! 🤣 ❤

Oh no! Sorry you both had such an experience. I had 3 of mine cut out 30 years ago, and I remember walking out and my sister laughing her head off, I was stepping like I was doing a high stepping walk to the car. Like it seemed the ground was closer than it really was, LOL. Blessings!!

I worked EMS for 9 years. There's one thing you learn quickly or you get out. That is you turn your emotions off and deal with the situation. As for public speaking you sorta do the same thing. You concentrate on the subject matter not On yourself. Great video.

I always hated going to the dentist, until someone told me about laughing gas. After that, I have had both fillings and dental surgeries done without general anesthesia, only the laughing gas. I remember telling the dental surgeon the last time I had a tooth extraction, also in Blue ridge, maybe the same one y'all used, what an amazing experience it always was. I knew the procedure was hurting terribly, but I didn't care. So sorry you were allergic to it Katie, because it is a comforting thing to use. I like it also because it gets out of your system as soon as they cut it off. So no long-lasting effects like anesthesia. Loved these very interesting stories.

The anesthesia makes me cranky too. I gives me a splitting headache. I was screaming at a nurse to stop hitting me in my head with that baseball bat. 🤣

Scary stories! I;m glad the both of you were alright. I had my wisdom teeth taken out when I was 19. They all started to hurt really bad. The dentist knock me out. I remember getting an injection on my arm and counting backwards. I wake up and I'm in La la Land. 🤣 I tried to leave by the closet door. The dentist says, "Do you have someone to drive you home?" His dental assistant was cracking up. I say "yes....my....dad...drove...me." He says "good" LOL!

I always enjoy these stories! I feel your pain concerning the wisdom teeth and the anesthesia. When I had my wisdom teeth surgery ,I could not do the anesthesia, they just had to numb it all up and go at it that way. The oral surgeon had to do double numbing, because when he started , I felt pain , so he shot it up more on both sides , top and bottom. So I heard and felt all he was doing , at least was not pain . The pain came after the numbing wore off. I understand about the jaw pain . My jaws were swollen, tongue swollen and sore for days. I know how you feel Corie, just thinking about it, and dreading it , day after day thoughts going through your mind . Glad it's behind you all. Thanks and God bless you 2 always...🙏❤

Good stories! I had my wisdom teeth removed, its been quite a few years. I was about 21, not scared due to my significant dental history by 21. The warning to me was, using sodium pentothal, so you may cry or laugh or have no reaction when you wake up - but try not to panic and remember its the drug. Well, now I am not too thrilled. So I wake up, bawling non stop. No sadness, or from pain, but can't stop. My younger brother had to drive me home and he was freaked out from my crying, so freaked out he could not remember how to get home. So through my sobbing, now pain, cotton stuffed in my mouth, I barely could talk. So I pointed and sobbed through the directions. It is hilarious to recall years later, but not at the time!! 👈😳🤣😪🤣🥺😆👉🚘

I laughed so hard it hurt 😂 and I mean that in a good way, not laughing at y'all As a parent myself, no matter how old your children are, you always want to protect them. As for speaking in front of people, I literally hyperventilate. Also, I've worked in nursing facilities and outpatient clinics. But when it comes to trauma, I freeze up. That's when I knew I wouldn't be able to further my career in that direction. I'm a combination of you both, I love it. I think this video has been one of the best ones ever. Wisdom teeth procedures are no joke! I’d love to hear your parents perspective of that story! I had surgery for a torn meniscus in high school. That whole experience is a nightmare I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.

Although, I do remember my brother drove me to the dentist for one of them. Afterwards, they tell me not to eat anything hot, cold, etc., etc. And my rascal of a brother drove straight to DQ and got a vanilla soft serve cone before driving me home...all I could do was watch. It's funny now...not so much at the time! Unrelatedly, in one of your Appalachia life videos Katie was talkin' about talking to the critters to get off the road and outta the way. My wisdom teeth needed to be cut out as well, but I guess I was pretty lucky because I didn't have to go through anything like that, but the days following weren't fun. 😂😂 I got my wisdom teeth out without anesthesia, and I remember thinking "If I meet Jesus right now it'd be okay because at least I'd be done in this chair!" Yeah, I almost passed out on the last tooth so they laid me way back and gave me a Coke lol

I passed out at the dentist one time and they were just going to clean my teeth. The dentist picked me up and carried me to another room. He told me not to come back till I get something from my Dr to calm me down.

I was 19 when I had 2 wisdom teeth on one side removed, and the next week had 2 removed on the other side. I had the teeth partially come in with lots of swelling, but the doc said that was better, so the teeth didn't have to be cut out as much. It was also good that only 2 teeth were removed at one setting. I choose, or they offered only local injected shots in my gums, a lot of shots. I was very awake but a good dentist. That was over 40 years ago. You don't forget those memories!

Wow you stirred up a mess of memories here, I had 2 wisdom teeth out on my 21st birthday! I was allergic to meds they gave me and i was hugging a toilet 10mins after getting home ended up at ER projectile vomiting gauze flying i was miserable had dry sockets after that episode! I still have the other 2 wisdom teeth To This Day!!🌼Take comfort in knowing they dont make that medicine anymore☺
