About:
We met up with Katie and her band in late December of 2017 to capture this session that consisted of performances of her unreleased original songs, which are all a part of her OurVinyl Live EP (and will be her first official album release of any kind). This Isn't A Love Song is her 5th song to be released from the Live EP.
About OurVinyl TV:
OurVinyl TV films live sessions with both emerging and established musicians. We’ve worked with artists such as St. Paul and The Broken Bones, Ed Sheeran, Allen Stone, Kina Grannis, Dispatch, Iration, Donavon Frankenreiter, Rebelution, Marcus Foster, and Odessa Rose. We do our best to push the production envelope by filming artists in unique settings that complement their music.
OurVinyl is live music. Being at a show is a really magical experience. It allows you to see bands and artists performing their music in its most raw form. It’s all live, all one take, no punching in, no autotune, no cheating. Just high energy and high authenticity.

This Isn’t A Love Song I might not be the waves on the California shore that once gave you the ride that you were looking for. And I might not be the snow on the Colorado slopes that sent you down a mountain fast as you could go. I’m not a big adventure or a dream come true; this isn’t a love song, but it’s the best that I can do. Babe, I’m not a comic telling jokes upon a stage, No, I can’t always put a smile on your pretty face. And I’m not your favorite actress in your favorite film that can distract you from your life when it’s feeling dim. I’m not a 5-star dinner on a private yacht and this isn’t a love song but love, it’s all I’ve got. She said: it’s no Beethoven’s symphony or a million-dollar tune but if you want to prove you love me all you have to do- is hold me every morning and kiss me every night. Be honest and listen, and admit when you’re not right. Goddamnit Katie is such a good singer/songwriter. Fuck. The accompaniment is pretty, but wholly unnecessary. She's just one of those rare, stand-alone artist. Work speaks for itself and stands on its own. Brilliant, original, authentic stuff.
