The casting crew did a fantastic job because Assad was born to play Armand!!! The chemistry they (jacob, assad, eric) all have on set is so fluid, like they "just fit" into each other's characters in such a way that everyone around them are captured and enchanted and enamored with them. It's just, wow, fantastic. I'm so so happy we get to experience this show along with them. It's just ❤❤❤

what a lovely interview, it seemed so relaxed and natural. it was nice to get to know assad a bit more and understand how he explores armand as a character. assad is such a brilliant actor - you mentioned the last two episodes, and i completely agree, they both show two completely different sides of armand beautifully.

That scene in the Louvre is so unbelievably good. The discomfort in Armand's body when he starts to tell his story is so real and visceral, but played so subtly and masterfully. The way Assad uses his hands in the beginning of the scene, his posture, the way he seems to guard his core with his hands and arms, it's all just so good and it communicates so much, so far beyond the words he's speaking. This was such a great interview, what a gracious guest and a welcoming, engaging host!

Seeing gifs of Assad's performance as Armand is what convinced me to watch the show from the beginning! He's incredible!

Assad is so perfect as Armand, he embodied him, especially in episode 5, like damn, THAT'S THE ARMAND I KNOW AND LOVE in the book!!! He is gorgeous, look like a cinnamon, BUT can kill you, his seductive look! Ugh, he understood the assignment. I fell in love with him in season 2.❤❤❤ I hope we get a spin-off of The Vampire Armand! I love that book, and Armand is one of my favorite characters!❤

When the face is already saying so much but then he speaks and its as expected, beauty compounded! some people are born to be actors. This cast is distinctly electric. They are beautiful in the truest sense. They magnify each others energy, definitely a huge part of why it is THE sexiest, most heart aching shows.

I kind of love that Assad got to just kind of chill and watch season 1 without doing the crazy press tour while they hid his identity as Armand. And now he's just absolutely ASTOUNDING & stealing every scene since they've let his character loose. Love this whole interview!! ❤️

I really liked season one, and I've got to say Assad is probably the biggest reason why season two got me so much more obsessed with this show! his presence is magnetic, I just can't hate Armand as much as I'd like to and that scares me haha that's how good he is

I’ve never been an Armand girl but episode 4 changed EVERYTHING for me, Assad’s portrayal of him has endeared me so much to him as a character

This was such a great interview. Armand has been my favorite character. You did a great job and his insights into Armand really align a lot with how I view him. Especially the Maitre/Arun, D/s twist that their relationship has taken. I saw his character as welcoming and craving someone to take over responsibilities from him, to lead him and take care of him. And I saw Louis as honing in on this aspect of Armand’s personality and giving him what he wants. But some saw it as Louis being a terrible boyfriend, taking advantage of past trauma and abuse. And I just couldn’t see it that way. Armand, in my eyes, is an uncertain young man pretending to be a confident adult on top of his game. His ways to get what he wants can be manipulative and sneaky, but he’s not outright looking to hurt anyone, unless his back is against the wall or he feels like he might lose Louis. I’m glad he gave some clarification here.

I love that Assad seems to be the only cast member who remembers the central romance is between Louis and Armand and you asked him about that relationship. Thank you for asking about the fight because it's the best part of episode 5. And thank you for asking about Maître and Arun because that is some crazy shit!!! And I understood it the way Assad said. It's a way for Armand to get his needs met by someone who doesn't take advantage. Louis is so gentle with Armand and sees the scared Arun hiding inside.

Assad is an incredible actor! I’m a huge book fan and I’m ok with the changes because the actors all totally get the essence of their characters. In the books I love to hate Armand for his manipulative behavior and his excessive neediness. Assad nails both these things perfectly! And he has the haunting beauty Armand is supposed to have. iwtv has been in my top 3 tv shows since the pilot but assad's performance in 2x04 and 2x05 rose it to my favorite tv show period and made armand one of my favorite characters of all time. i hope we get lots more of him in the future.

This series is phenomenal overall. The writing, the casting, locations, music..I dare say it is one of the best TV series I have ever watched, and I hope for more seasons. Assad, while a very sweet person irl, managed to capture the terror that is Armand - there is a very deep, haunting intensity in the quiet, low key way Armand talks and behaves, that manages to scare me, despite the fact that I am familiar with the character from the books, and no vampire can really scare me at this point. Excellent actor!
