I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS TRANSFORMATION!!! You completely changed the style, era, look of these! I LOVE all your ideas from sawing off the edges of the tops - to measuring placement of drawer pulls! You are a FURNITURE GENIUS! I love how you take what you find and make it the style you want!

Katie, NOBODY is good at this the first time. We make mistakes and learn, at least I do. Result no matter how you got there, and you didn't give up, is well worth it. Careful about tying hair back and any excess clothing with the power tools, I have heard stories... Those little nickel sized nylon sliders on the very bottom may have been a good touch? Tres gorge.

I know you worked very hard getting these to where you needed them to be so you could paint them! I love the new base’s and the color you chose Katie. They turned out beautiful.

Seriously excellent makeover! I love the clean lines and the new bases are perfect! My thought (having had similar situations) was to insert the screws and hand turn them before actually putting the base onto the furniture. I didn’t have a 90o ratchet, so I was trying to screw using a pair of pliers to hold my screw bit.😂😂😂 Screws and bits were falling all over the place and rolling under things. You did an excellent job on this whole makeover!🌸

Katie, I recently picked up a dresser and nightstand at a garage sale for $20. They are probably 60’s style antique dirty white with gold, which I find hideous. I’ve cleaned and repaired the drawers but been stuck on how to refinish them. Now I know! Your new base legs are genius. Thanks for showing so much of your process and details.

First and foremost... excellent project! I can't believe they are the same nightstands. Like you said... completely unrecognizable! But I also wanted to give you props for showing that pocket holes aren't as easy as it looks. I see so many videos where they make it look simple. And I rarely ever have it that easy. LOL. And I'm a woodworker first and furniture upcycler second. LOL So kudos you did great as far as I am concerned.

Beautiful work Katie. If I hadn't seen the "before", I'd never have believed that was how those nightstands started life. We just had our first big garage sales weekend here where I live....so much furniture just out for free! There was an amazing dresser with mirror that I desperately wanted (but would need my husband to okay it, and he's not on board at all with my hobby). But that did inspire me to get started on the furniture I already have that needs making over. I immediately went to your channel for inspiration. You have such gorgeous ideas!

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. It is amazing what those legs do for that piece of furniture. They turned out so pretty, I wish I had the nerve to try making legs for furniture. So far I haven’t gotten up the nerve. Great job Katie!

I actually liked the original cut out carving in the drawers. I think it was unique and gave them more personality. The new design is nice, but it is what you see in every box store.

Very, very beautiful transformation -- you have a great eye to see the possibility and skill to make it happen!!! I do some home remodeling... try pre-drilling a small pilot hole (smaller diameter than the screw size) before putting in the screws -- they go in soooooo much easier, hold just as well, and you greatly lessen the chance of splitting the wood you're screwing into. I learned this the hard way! It really makes a huge difference. :o)

Wow! I’ve been following you for about a year and this video amazed me! I am pretty sure you have said you don’t do power tools- but look at you now! I am baby stepping from orbital sander preparing for jig saw myself. Fantastic makeovers, and those wood filler ideas I will eventually use on our nightstands. Just wow! Mindblown!
