If you can avoid that whole design center situation you will be much better off. You can easily drive the price of the home up into the stratosphere. Better to go with an all inclusive builder and then do upgrades after you get the home so you can take your time and pick and choose. Also sometimes you can get a good deal on a home when a builder wants to close out a development or a section which allows you to avoid living in a construction zone for years and not even having amenities available that whole time.

I stayed there with friends who rent there every winter. Golfers. We looked at model/sample homes while we were there. They were crap construction. I'm a contractor so that's all I do is look at the quality of construction. Cheap sliders, crap drywall finishes. Entry door closed but I can see light coming in the top gap of 1/2 inch.

@@lrc87290 was it all builders that were poor quality or any specific one? I believe they have upto 7 or 8 builders there now homes range from the $200"s to over a million

@@lrc87290 i understand that after pandemic shut down there was not only a supply shortage but also a labor shortage and builders were having to use alot of 3rd party crews. I often wondered if this might contribute to poor quality craftsmanship!? 🤔

@@lrc87290 I was there July 2018 they had just started building that previous January and we looked at 2 or 3 builders at the time including Lennar and Pulte. Im no contractor but I thought the model homes we saw were very nice.

I pay property taxes in Il. (DONE) in FL u have a 30 year Bond on new IF u don't pay off at closing Fine. Now After Bond do u have to pay Maintenance on the ROAD or included in the property taxes?? ALOHA😬
