I dont care what people say, like "She fell out," or "She's not cool anymore," or "I miss the old katy," or "I like her older stuff."she's one of the few artists who aren't self-absorbed or attention seeking. she uses her platform for light, love, and optimism, and all of her songs have empowering and introspective messages and themes with substance, and her story can apply to everyone in different ways. It's horrible how gems like this, witness, and smile flopped bc it was "weird." People need to give it a chance bc there's no "old" or "new" katy. She's the same, she's just evolving. she always stood in her own truth, and her music came from a genuine place from the beginning. so congrats to all the katycats who never left. let's stand strong guys ⚡️⚡️⚡️

I know I think Katy deserves so much more attention bc in my mind the only good music out there currently is her music, Kelly Clarkson, and some lady Gaga songs. When you in your mid 30s, you gonna feel this song more. A wish to go back and help your younger self to overcome the obstacles, but then realize you even love those obstacles, because they made you what you are today. I fell in love with Katy Perry's music when I heard "the one that got away". Still gives me strong emotions. Thanks Katy for the beautiful music.

I disagree tbrh. I'm late 20's and feel this song a lot. I don't think age will really factor into the feel of the song. But for very polar opposite reasons. It gives me courage to keep trying. I don't love my past obstacles, and if I knew back then what I know now, I would have avoided a lot of trauma and scars that never seem to get better. People say it makes you stronger or wise, but it only made me timid and scared. This song is also a way to represent you have the power now, and you can do it. People say you get a "glow", but I have health problems and my glow died before I was 20. I think the song means different things for different people, but honestly mid 30's is young imo my bf is like 34. Like maybe 50+ sure but we're not that old.
