Looks and sounds like a great piano. I think I'll have to compare this with the Yamaha CLP-685 in a store to see just how they measure up. One other thing... Did someone forget to turn on the lights while recording the video? It reminds me of something out of a 1980's commercial.

I am thinking about cs11 and Yamaha Nu1x. How does the keyboard feel when compared to nu1x? I'm curious about the sound

Can you do “looping”? Say record eight bars of bass, then eight bars of organ, then play acoustic piano over those-for a multilayer recording of yourself? Or even just to practice against?

Does the cs11 come in one piece or does it come in parts? I live in an apartment building on the third floor and the only way to get up is a flight of stairs.

Amazing review with the CS series as well as the CA67 / CA97 video. My question is should I go for the CS model or the CA models for feel and sound? Could you do a comparison video of all 4 pianos? Thanks.

Thanks for the quick and elaborate reply! I did figure most of what you said would be the case but was just making sure before I went to try them out first hand. I've only heard good things about Kawai as a current owner of Casio PX150 and would like to make the transition to one of these quality digital pianos. Thanks once again :)

Projectile Creative I am so happy with my CA97! I though I wanted to get a baby grand as well... but I'm not so sure now because the CA97 gives me everything I could imagine not to mention all the added surprises!

Exactly! I'm still forever finding new features on my CS8 - The layering of sounds is just spot on too which I figured out a week ago! Especially with sounds like the Piano + Choir or Piano + Strings / Orchestra :)

We want ebony finish with BRASS fittings and gold embellished logo, is this possible?

Product demand is not customer demand! Nickel and Silver is NOT a luxurious appearance, it reflects and 2nd rate product. Many pianos have brass and gold embellishment, it looks far more aesthetically pleasing (Black and Gold) that reflects luxury and a 1st class product. Nickel and silver reflects 2nd rate / place! It would be expected that the CS11 being your claimed "Ultimate" model would reflect a first class aesthetics, gloss ebony is beautiful but not with nickel. When you have sorted this out then we will consider purchase! thanks :)

Don't you have a piano that has strings to play its own sound, that can be muted to have the sound of a digital one in the headphones ?

Is it possible to mute internal sounds and use it like a midi controller and output from an audio interface?

Absolutely. Just use the "local" MIDI function to disable the internal sounds. It allows the keys to continue to send data.

On many forums I read that CS8 (or CS11) sounds much cleaner than the newer CA98. They say CA98 sound is boxy, muffled, like all the sounds were mixed, especially in the mediums, and that it's probably due to the speaker system and cabinet, since on the headphones there is no such a problem. Given that CS8 is slightly cheaper than CA98, I wonder how could Kawai make such a mistake. If this is true, I hope I will get a refund from my local store in France, since I just ordered a CA98, or at least be able to replace my order with a CS8 (or CS11). Can anyone comment on this issue?

@@KawaiPianosOnKZfaq Based on the above statement( 'sound test our CA98 among many others, I'm certain you'd pick it! We're certainly proud of our CS8 and CS11, but the CA98 is whole new ballgame.')it appears you favor the CA98 over the CS 8/11. Could you please confirm that you believe the CA 98 is a 'whole new ballgame' compared to the CS 11. Thank you. I am trying to make a buying decision and there seem to be various opinions on the ca 98.

@@KawaiPianosOnKZfaq Understood, and I will play both at one point. However, I am asking for 'your'opinion since you know these instruments very well and have played them both more than once. I understand it is only your opinion, but it is an educated opinion with experience on both.
