I currently own a Kawasaki Vaquero myself. Let me tell you, this was a great purchase. I've had ZERO issues in 3 years👌🏿. Routine maintenance and it'll keep on ticking. I had a Vulcan 900 for 2 years prior to the Vaquero. The only con is the electronics(outdated). But I'm cool with that.

YO TD205 I know you have a Vaquero, and one of the best sounding ones I've ever heard. Before I started this channel I dropped by your channel and subbed because of the Vaquero. That particular time you were talking about 2 vs 4 finger clutching. I also had a Vulcan 900 but that was short lived, I would have gotten another but ABS became a mandatory thing for me and sadly the 900's don't seem to get that treatment. Anyway cool to see a name I recognize see this vid, and thanks for the comment!

Yes, the 900 was short lived for me too, even though the ABS wasn't the issue. I just outgrew it. I can take the Vaquero all over the US comfortabililty😁. Stay safe man!!

Oh man that would be so cool. The king of the baggers is fun but boring at the same time, only HD and Indian. Kawasaki really needs to get in there in my opinion. I would love to see The Vaquero get some minor updates without losing that old style hot rod look that I love so much. They could go with a bigger power plant, updated sound system, and adjustable windscreen like Indian. Maybe update the look of their controls? I dunno I didn't mess with the cruise for the short bit I was on it so maybe it's not as cumbersome as it initially looks

@@BigKatMotovlogs yes!!! It honestly wouldn’t take that much. The Vulcan/Vaquero/Voyager just really needs to be updated. We don’t necessarily need a new bike. I would also like to see Yamaha return with that liquid cooled V-4 that was in the Royal Star Venture.

They have a hard time selling those bikes. Definitely a lot of bike for what you can get them, but you better plan on keeping it, bc you’ll take a bath trying pushing it in the used market.

They do have a bit of a time selling them. They need to pay attention to the market. I think top load side cases instead of the clam shells, updated blue tooth compatible sound system and say 3 color choices and LEDs all around and I think they would sell better and move in the used market better too.

I had 2… a Vulcan 1600, then a 2017 voyager .. was a totally different bike after an Ivan’s flash. I traded it in for a 2021 Indian pursuit… the Indian can’t touch the reliability of the Kawasaki. But Bluetooth and maps.. and my favorite… the adjustable windshield. Made it too attractive to pass up.. if Kawasaki gets off it’s butt and upgrades the dino.. I’ll step right back

The scout I own now I 'bought' brand new on PCP basically renting with an optional payment after 3 years in 2016, I had to trade it in because I couldn't afford the bubble payment in 2019 so I did the same with another new Vulcan, that's how they lock you in, in the UK, cheap payment for a new bike but you never really own it. Weird coincidence that I dropped into the shop and my old Indian was for sale I could afford on finance and keep at the end, apologies for the long reply but your story is very similar so I wanted to advise you on mine in case it helps you 👊

This is what motorcycles should still be. Forget all that updated BS people talk about, it’s nothing but a headache. If it has a usb outlet to power a handlebar mounted phone or GPS, that all the high tech a person needs. I have a 17 Ultra Classic and had a Pan America. I also have a KTM 890 Adventure S model and it is always the high tech electronics that let a bike and rider down. I can’t stand the infotainment unit on the Ultra Classic, a stereo that I could run a cable to to play off my phone would be plenty good. The Pan America was one Hell of a bike… when it would run at all. The KTM’s TFT dash has completely blacked out on me. Luckily it wasn’t ride ending and came back up when I stopped for fuel and turned the bike back on. Detachable top case, a dual USB, and the Vaquero is perfection.

Thanks for watching and great comment. Back when I was looking at the Kawi Nomad I read on forums that a same year Voyager top case would mount the Nomad...I have to believe that the top case off a Voyager would still mount to the Vaquero, come to think of it I wouldn't mind if the Voyager's top opening side cases mounted to the Vaquero as well. But yea time marches on and more tech is always where we go.... but is it always better? I don't always think so. I find myself gravitating to simpler bikes but not too simple lol. Maybe why I wasn't disappointed riding the KLR.

Own several bikes including but not limited to a 23 Voyager and a 24 Heritage 114. Both bought new. The Voyager specifically is a steal because its a full dresser. The only comparable Harley starts at the road glide limited at 34k. I paid 18,200 for my Voyager that represents 84% less money spent. The fit and finish, power and efficiency is no where near the Harley. Just dont expect it to be what it isnt. Lots of great selling points tho. Showa forks are stock(thats an upgrade you gotta pay for on a Harley). The OEM seat is far better than a Harley. And these bikes are well knoen to go 100k on the most basic of maintenaince.

@BigKatMotovlogs
@BigKatMotovlogs 9 ай бұрын
The short answer is adequate. It felt good and wasn't forceful. Its got 81 hp and 107 ft lb torque, but its moving a bike that's 844 lbs plus passenger(s) and gear. Just me on the bike takes the weight near 1100 lbs. It's enough to get the job it was created for done. Light to light my Vulcan 650 S will take it everyday. But for the long haul carrying alot of weight, it's got the power to that well. That said the new line of American baggers are definitely more powerful HD Road Glide 100 HP at 119ft lb and Indian Challenger 122 hp and 128 ft lb.

I would say that while they haven't changed the engine since the bikes creation, that doesn't necessarily mean it was or is underpowered. HD and Indian are continually making bigger builds but I'm not convinced they are needed for practical usage. If my digging around on the internet is showing me the right specs the Vaquero was actually rocking a bigger engine than the comparitive Road Glide of the time when the Vaquero was introduced. I would, therefore, conclude that since speed laws haven't changed much if at all from then to now, that the Vaquero is still powered adequately for the roads we travel. Thanks for the comment and ride safe 👍

i bought my one-owner 2017 voyager with 2332 miles in september 2020 for a $10k cash steal. the factory’s lean tune performed “ok” on highway but off the highway it was like a fat lady with wood prosthetic legs running a 5k. the solution: v&h slip ons and having the ecu flashed by ivan’s performance products - 9.8% HP increase & 14.2% Torque increase; smoother throttle response, cooler engine temps; no more decel popping & nice exhaust note. 43.1 actual mpg over my 35,771 miles of ownership. oh, self-canceling turn signals. the stock bridgestone rear tire life is around 6k miles. others, as well as myself run american elite on the rear and shinko 777hd on front for excellent ride and mileage 15k+ miles. 40 psi rear 38 psi front. stock suspension is A+. swapped the big 18” mack truck windshield for a clearview small 13” recurve windshield and added a grasshopper backrest and longhorn highway pegs. throw in regular maintenance and ride my heart out. let the good times roll.

Thanks for watching and commenting! In America HD is king hands down. The new line of HD are reliable from everything I've heard...and not just this newest line but go back to even 2014 with the Rushmore project forward. And if you want to get pickier, go back to when the evo was released, that motor alone saved HD from collapse I'm pretty sure. Well that and Reagan leveling the playing field some by tariffing Japanese imports. I can only speak to what I've heard because I've never owned a HD. HD retains value is indisputable. But you can't take anything away from Kawasaki except their fit and finish doesn't even come close to HD. But if one can get past that, they've got a mechanically sound bike that will give them almost no grief for as long as they own it. ( speaking strictly in the bagger/cruiser line ) Bottom line is both bikes are good for different reasons to different audiences and as with anything manufactured it will have flaws. Keeping your machines maintained and in good operational order is going to them on the road regardless of make. Have a good one and ride safe.

@@Prometheus1979 😂😂😂 How are you going to tell me I'm lying when I comes to Harley's breaking down on our road trip? I'm the one who experienced ruined road trips because of the unreliable broke down Harley not you I was there. When we ride in a group there is always a Harley breakdown you can set your watch by those overpriced pieces of junk. My brother in-law has a Ultra classic Cvo his first year of ownership the bike was put on the flatbed 3 times for the same thing it would not start 😂. Again how are you going to tell me I'm lying about what my friend said about his road glide being too hot to ride? He told me not you. He said the dealer told him he has to be careful so as not to get the entertainment system wet or it will malfunction and he was mad about it because he wasn't told this until after he purchased the bike. He is not a wimp because he can't take the heat burning his legs while he rides, he is just being honest and that is a poor design on the part of Harley Davidson. The Voyager which is what I have and the Vaquero both have a fan system set up to draw heat away from the rider pushing it under the bike. We also have sliding luvers or vents at the feet you can open or close to keep heat off your legs and feet or when it's cold out you can close the vents to keep warm. So he is no wimp, Harley is just dumb for making a big one that uncomfortable to ride. Again poor engineering on Harley's part. Then you got to take into account the frequent maintenance schedule for a Harley. Just because Harley sells a lot of bike doesn't make them the best. It just shows that sheep herd mentality, they just want to say they have a HD 😂. I had a co-worker who bought a Harley and he admits he bought it just for the name and says he wish he bought something else, that thing was always breaking down.

Hey thanks for commenting. So, my noise cancelling mic works pretty good which is why you don't hear the bike that much. However, loud doesn't equal good, so yes the bike sounded good, while not being noisy. As much as I love this bike, I don't love it for it's premium feel, I love it for it's throw back look as I ride it. Meaning the full analogue gauges. The Vaquero is adequate in all other areas. HD RD especially the new 2024's are just more advanced and subjectively better in every category. They have made advancements to the Road Glide over the years whereas Kawasaki leaves their cruisers/baggers to mediocrity and never advance them. It's a truth I don't like but it's the truth.
